So there are two parts, the clockspring

    and the steering angle sensor

    prius sas.jpg
which snaps onto the back of the clockspring via those little plastic tabs circled in red

If you buy a genuine Toyota assembly, you get both parts together

(this is just a random ebay picture- don't know if that part number is correct or what)

If you buy an aftermarket clockspring you have to remove the steering angle sensor from the old part and transfer it.
As far as I know, whatever you do you need to perform a relearn procedure for the steering sensor in the antilock brake control module.
The best way to do this is to use the Techstream software to run the relearn procedure

No, I bought it from a Toyota dealer . I did NOT get steering angle sensor. What is this relearn procedure? We did nothing

In a Gen 2 catalog I see the spiral cable and the angle sensor as two separate PNCs.

Gen 3 appears to be where it started being sold only as one all-singing, all-dancing, six hundred dollar assembly.
