2012 Halogen --> LED Headlight Replacement

    My 2012 had halogen bulbs. Replacing the driver H11 with LED was a snap. Replacing the passenger one was hard as hell because it's difficult to get your hand in. Now I'm glad the car had the halogen ones. Cost me about $15. Did it this evening.

    That was the good news.

    One hearing aid fell off and disappeared into the engine compartment. Impossible to find as it could have caught on or landed in a zillion places. Saved a bundle by doing it myself. Will cost the VA a bundle to replace the hearing aid.

    I also replaced the parking light bulbs with LEDs.

    WOW to both! Why did I wait so long?

    I replaced the HID bulbs in my 2008 Touring, removing the bumber to get to the passenger side, and lost a protective cover for my Apple watch - not nearly as expensive as the hearing aid! ;)

    You also risk banging it and breaking it....

    I lost a lot hair working on my car each time. Those you can’t get back or repurchase at the store.

    I tried a pair of a certain brand of LED headlight bulbs and was surprised how badly they interfered with radio reception.

    I was perplexed for a long time, and just wondered if my radio was failing or the antenna amp had gone bad or something, because I could only pick up the closest, strongest stations anymore and the rest of the dial just seemed deserted.

    Then I discovered I could still pick up all the stations in daytime. Finally it dawned on me to try switching the headlights on and off. Sure enough, headlights on ⇒ only the strongest radio stations picked up.

    I hope you found a pair that don't interfere as much. (Or that you don't listen to a lot of radio.)
