Prius C Hybrid Battery discontinued?

2019 was the last year they were imported into the USA. They kept making them for another two years, then they redesigned the body and the all-new version is currently for sale in the rest-of-the-world.

Given that the Prius c/Aqua was one of the top 5 most popular cars in Japan 2012-2017, and only somewhat less popular for the years after, I'm not especially worried about parts. They're going to make parts for these for a really long time.

Even if they did discontinue the finished battery assembly itself, the actual battery modules inside the pack are exactly the same as the ones in the other Toyota hybrids of the same vintage. So you could use modules from other Priuseses, Camrys, Highlanders etc.

While the c may not be very common in the USA, the global parts supply for these cars is about as good as it gets.

Now as far as the 12v battery goes, you can get one at the dealer or generics from Batteries+bulbs stores, some Walmarts and autoparts stores. Look for size S34B20R. (Link goes to example at o'reilly)

Note that 2017 & later c uses a different battery which is harder to find; dealer only for now.

As for parts, the Prius C is pretty much a 'world car'...or was. Agree that finding parts won't be an issue.

It wasn't any problem finding a 12V battery for our 2012 when I needed one.
