I have been hearing so much horrible story about cat stolen so i finally pulled the trigger and invested new jack and power tool to install my shield today. I spray paint my shield in red so hope these bastard are not only cheap but also color blind.

I put a Miller Cat shield on my Prime, figured it would help the perp to move on to an easier target.

JB Weld on the rivets? What's the point, I can see if it were some kind of removable fastener, like a rivnut and bolt or screw, but a rivet requires drilling or grinding off of the rivet head. Something the epoxy won't be very effective at preventing.

I've got the same shield and used stainless steel security torx screws. I keep the bit in my glove box, so it can be removed; if the smog station needs to eyeball it. Also added a motion sensor to the car. It's gone off a couple of times around 2AM. I only see a car driving off; by the time I get to the window. So I guess it's working.

Actually I was using SS screws and only 2 location with the rivet. The rivets come with the kit are so tiny so I switched to SS steel instead. The JBweld was just to fill the philip head. Basically I just want to make it harder to remove and probably not stopping some desparate professional bustard to steel my cat.

I installed a CAT Shield on my 2018 Prius Prime today. Four bolts on the rear cross brace and two special Torx bolts on the front cross brace. No drilling required.

I been thinking about this for a longtime and I think it about due ... nearly $200 bucks for the 304SS, and add hot temp paint - perhaps bring orange color and etching the VIN to the cat ...

Hope the crooks move to a less / easy target ...

I go to Long Beach every year and my cousins said cat thieves are abundant there so I installed Cat Shield and Cat Strap. One thief got pissed so he ice picked my driver side window! 1-1/2 years and so far so good!
