My 2020 Supersonic Red Toyota Prius Prime was just replaced by a larger VW ID4, so I'm putting it up for sale. Note: I'm located in San Diego CA, just posting it here in case anyone is interested. Cross posted on Craigslist.

I am the original owner of the car, which has a clean title, as well as hasn’t been in any accidents whatsoever, and the vehicle has been very well taken care of with all services completed promptly by an official Toyota dealer. It’s been recently tuned up with Michelin tires (just changed), new engine air filter, cabin air filters, and synthetic oil/filter. You should be good to go for another 10k miles till it’s next service.
This has Toyota Softex seats with heated front seats, 11.6” multimedia screen, adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, emergency brake assist, Bluetooth audio with AUX, and this year model has the full 5 seats unlike older models with only 4 seats. Comes with both sets of Keys. The red metallic color was a $400 upgrade at factory.

    Upgrades include:
    - Lifetime Warranty Ceramic Tint on all windows ($850). Clear ceramic tint on the windshield installed by myself. Can remove if you like.
    - All-weather rubber floor mats ($250)
    - Set of 4 Michelin tires Installed 900 miles ago ($700)
    - 1.5” Lift for better ride height, Zero Affect on MPG ($500)
    - Front and Rear Dash Camera ($150)
    - 1 ¼” Tow hitch with Harness – Can be used for carrying bikes, much better on MPG than rooftop. ($300)
    - Door Jam Protectors and Rear Hatch Vinyl Protector strips from factory ($100)
You can request any of these upgrades to be removed if you’d like immediately after purchase and I’ll have my mechanic remove them.

Price is firm at $29,500. Feel free to message me if you have any questions or want to schedule a showing. I will miss my red fuel sipping rocket.

Yikes...30K seems high...are folks really getting that much for a used prime? I do appreciate the upgrades...but I'm not sure you are going to get your money back on those. (y)

Edit : My bad...I see it is the XLE model with "the humongous screen".

I went looking for ammo to corroborate that, came up short though. Screen-grab after google searching "Auto Trader 2022 Toyota Prius Prime":

Prices in Canadian dollars, and "mileage" in kilometers. $36K CDN for one with 109K kms! Talk about runaway inflation; used cars appreciating.

Toyota dealership nearby us has zero new inventory, of anything.

Forgot to include miles. It has 47.2k miles. I've priced it close to the offers I've been getting. Market is still frothy regardless of what new buyers are hoping for.

Yeah, I think it is still a hot seller's market for used PP. I ended up getting $32K on my 21 PP Ltd trade-in at a dealer. That's the equivalent of a $34K price tag sold if not traded in due to the reduced sales tax I had to pay on the new car. Looking at @Mendel Leisk post, the dealer still made a hefty profit on the car.

Yep..it seems that way. I'm in the used car market for another family vehicle and while I do see prices coming down, they still have a long way to go. Prices are down from "insanely crazy" to just "crazy" at this point. (y) Used PP's are not following the trend nearly as much though.

BTW - cars.com has a nice graph to show price trends on each vehicle...and many of the models i was looking at are starting to drop quite a bit. I was specifically looking at the Prius C and 2016+ Prius, and even the Yaris.

Well I got an offer for 28k flat so the market is still strong, but I want a bit more. Will sell on wednesday at that buyer. Dropping asking price for 28.9k.

Headsup for those who are curious. I ended up selling it to driveway.com for 27.5k, I removed all the add-ons prior to selling it with them.. so all in all it got a decent resale value still. But definitely felt the weakness compared to 4 months ago. The avg offer I was offered was between 25-26k. Now that mine is sold... market can go back to usual lol.

Some predict the used market will be steady for a couple of years but recenrly more are suggesting a used car crash that will leave many upside down.

27 still isn't bad! May I ask what your out the door price was new? Toyota was doing some strong incentives in 2021, up to $5,000 customer cash if I recall. You must've gotten close to break even or possibly profit! Free car minus gas and electricity! My 22 XLE was 31k. They dropped to only 1500 incentive but at least NY had a $500 instant rebate. And the 4500 fed incentive. I've heard used Primes might even be eligible for the used tax credit. That could keep used prices up longer

How do you like it ID4? I will buy the ID buzz in a heartbeat if it's priced below 40k. But still a little wary of VW reliability.

I bought mine in 2019 for 20k OTD which was like 1500 off toyota and 4k off dealer (Then 9k for state and federal rebates). My brother I found him one for the full 5k customer cash plus 4k dealer discount, it was like 16k OTD after rebates. Good times.

I like the ID4 but you can tell it's not going to be as reliable as the prius. It was also $$$ for what you get. The ID Buzz is going to be VERY expensive.. probably 60k +. Not really worth waiting for imo.

Yep...many here got "too good to be true" deals on the Prime back then. That probably ain't happening again...UNLESS the auto market completely crashes. And with all the mass layoffs, especially in tech, who knows...a crash just might happen.
