Well, took the 2012 to the Toyota specialist this morning to have it diagnosed. I'm thinking it's the head gasket, but crossing my fingers. Started shaking at start up a little, and losing a bit of antifreeze.
She has 184,000 on the clock. We will see when I get a call.

The Prius "C" is different than the regular Prius.

OP’s avatar says they have a ‘15 Prius c, but talking about a ‘12, and it’s third gen forum, so not c? Should clarify.

If it's a c, I've cleaned quite a few. They never seem to be very dirty. But I'm sure it can happen.

Either way, loosing coolant combined with engine shake on startup isn't a good sign.

Hoping it's an external leak and maybe a failing ignition coil, but I'd expect the coil to make it keep shaking.

    Any codes?

Sorry, no, it's not our Prius C. That is a 2015. It is our 2012 Prius. 1.8L.

I'm not sure that it has been. We purchased it used.

    No, not our C. 2012 with a 1.8L.

    No codes at all.
