so while passing at a 4 way intersection a driver slammed into me on passenger side door frame got jammed and rear passenger door wont open. also the accident caused damage to Hybrid battery... not sure how that happened. but car had triangle of death and several cells are busted.
got car towed to repair shop do u think insurance will fix it because also with body the car wont start any more because they have to replace the hybrid battery.

car is 2008 prius with 150,000 miles

    Welcome to PriusChat!!
This could be a "total", and "they" won't fix it. Best to get additional "quotes" on the extent of repairs, and see if that changes things.

If the hybrid battery's damaged, the car would probably be totalled for the replacement cost of a hybrid battery alone. I doubt an insurance company would allow a refurbished/remanufactured battery to be used for the repair

insurance might question how the hybrid battery got damaged looking at the impact. They might say that battery might be bad before the accident unless they see physical damage inside. When you say "several cells are busted" is it physically busted? or showing DTCs?

Umm, no one is going to believe that your hybrid battery was damaged as a result of that accident. How do you know "several cells are busted"?

if the frame is bent, she's a goner. it doesn't look bad though. ultimately, it will come down to repair cost vs valuation.
used prius are worth a fortune right now, but idk how high repair costs are these days.

Most likely totaled -- if the other driver is insured or you have collision coverage. It doesn't take much to total an older car. (My 2013 Fusion was recently totaled with similar damage).

It doesn't look too bad; is the wheel pushed in, or untouched? If the wheel is pushed in it'll require replacement of the solid rear axle. Maybe just with salvage. The age of the car will be what totals it I think.

It is toast. Daughter's prius was rear ended, all the doors and even the hatch worked. Hatch was a little sticky to close but it did lock. Car was totalled because a cross member in the trunk was bent. You issue will be getting a settlement big enough to replace the car. Took my daughter 2 months, in the end she still had to pay sales tax and registration costs.

Comprehensive usually costs peanuts. And things happen.

    Often things involving cat converters.
