That red color is gorgeous. I am hoping to get one in Cutting Edge color but I can't deny the red is stunning

Likes: new body styling, better gas millage, color, apple play, comfortable seats

Dislikes/ Improvements that could be made: who likes light seat inserts with black seats? , needs ding protection, no spare tire - but a jack, it will take a while to get used to new gauge setup , would like the hatch to open automatically. make the toyota emblem on the hood black - it's the only chrome thing on the car.

first mods - removed the plastic Prius letters from the trunk and dealer licence plate frame !

I like there’s no wiper on the back! Was there no waiting or did you reserve this color trim and model? Enjoy

Would love to see how your gorgeous new car looks with the 5 individual letters removed from the rear! Was it easy to remove? No residual glue? Thanks.

found the car was allotted to the dealer from another dealer, and right away gave them a deposit when I heard just MSRP price

The rear letters are plastic held on with double sided tape,i feel no one needs to advertise it is a prius - some dental floss or fishing string helped peel them off and you can pell off the double sided tape with your fingers - compound/cleaner and then wax area.

I really do like de-badging, it is your vehicle after all - if you are not comfortable with logos on your car - good for you if you can remove with ease.
Believe me, when I get the new PHV, your photo was a major inspiration to do it as well - I am not a fan of spelling the name on the back since Volvo started it. It looks so nice, so clean.

Thx so much for the photo of your debadge. It stunned me, at first. I had to do a double take to be sure it was the new Prius. Is it a “nicer Tesla” or a less droopy EQS??

Don't care for debadging, but only in the event I'm curious about the car I see on the road. The Prius is still unique for that to not be an issue, but there are plenty of models that need the badge to tell them apart from the rear.

One of my point on this matter is - You know what your car is and if anyone mistakes it for a Crown or totally different car? Who cares :-D
Same as wearing a t-shirt with huge Under armour or Nike logo on it, some people are just not comfortable wearing/driving or being generally associated with a brand.

You know, when you mention EQS vibes, it is kinda hard to unsee it now :)

One final question, mrlarrys: have you thought about the removal of the “PHEV?” It’s calling me! My “Cutting Edge” arrives shortly, I hope. It’s at Long Beach since 3/9, awaiting “processing.” How long might that take?

Looking great! Black and red are the best Gen 5 colors.

I have to admit, I'm second guessing my Prime pre-order of an XSE vs an SE. I'd originally wanted some of the XSE features.... but hadn't really considered the range reduction due to the 19" wheels and tires, or the fact that it's a bit of an oddball tire size.

That being said, the dealer I'm working with knows I'd be ok with an SE if that's what's available to me when he gets his allocation.

Interesting viewpoint .... liking no rear window wiper. Living in a similar winter road condition area that gets extreme road filth buildup from dirty snow/slush in a heartbeat ... and not being able to see out the rear in short order? Many HATE not having a ride that can't clean rear windows WITH washer as well. Same with rear cameras ... the fellow who figures out how to get those clean while in motion? Gets the nobel price imo
    ;)

I'm in the same boat. The first thing I'm doing with the car is to ask the dealer to swap in some 17" wheels, or get it done at Kaltire with Nokian WRG4 all-weather tires on them. Hopefully brand new manufacturer's 19" wheels will have some resale value.

If it's separate, it is either glued on or attached from the interior side of the bumper cover.

The 17in are also a bit of an odd size. They are the same width as the 15in tires on the old model.
