More Norman interesting.. yes something's broke . You need a modern OBD2 reader preferably with an ABS button like Innova 3100 series comes to mind advance Auto pretty cheap It will read most all codes of a generation 2 just about all of them most of the good ones too I own this cheap scanner so I know it works I use it next to tec stream or instead of tec sream very regularly. I've had this exact same problem been discussed here I can't remember exactly what was going on this also would go on when my display was failing. But at the same time all that was going on my ABS pump and accumulator was also starting to fail so I had many many lights on the dash look like a Christmas tree for months My brakes did not get like yours until the brake lights which are red and yellow were lit up for almost 14 months plus this is pretty easy stuff to diagnose some of the parts are what some might consider fairly expensive but actually when you compare with other vehicles of similar parts not so much expensive. People kind of get in shock when they hear they need a thousand 1,200 brake pump ABS pump etc but when you think about that same part for other cars it could be double It used to be triple.

You probably have multiple problems going on concurrently.

The first one is you have a failed combination meter (CM). You can read about this issue here - Combination Meter Repair - DIY. Read the first two or so pages then skip to the last five or six pages to start with. You can always read more if you find it interesting. That thread discusses DIY or if you're not up for that it also has details of where you can send your CM for repair.

Because your CM is not functioning more often than it is, you have warning lights that are not illuminating for which you will have codes. You need a capable code reader in order to know whatever else is going on with the brakes. You can read more about what code readers might be suitable to use here - Gen2 OBD2 app review.

Once you've been able to retrieve the codes your car is reporting post the details here for further guidance.

Ok I will look into those parts and see what’s going on there I appreciate you for helping out I did have some progress as my breaks like clicked back to where they go normally at least that’s what it felt like and the sound went away after a bit so that is good otherwise it’s just my odometer that won’t stay on it will if I use it extremely sparingly but I don’t get that luxury a lot and if I need to get gas and I don’t want it to turn off I have to get gas with my door open also thank you for the advice on posting

Yeah I live in two places it’s odd for sure also we did look into the car with a reader it did tell me that I was a fool who didn’t use coolant for a embarrassing about of time but the car miraculously didn’t explode so that’s good it had said some codes we looked them up but from what we understood it was the coolant that was all it was saying mostly

These are the codes I had gotten when it said coolant things were wrong so I fixed that with coolant also yesterday was the first time I’ve had the beep for that long and the breaks like that it felt when I left work that it clicked into place so my breaks are working again and also the ringing stopped so idk what that was about entirely so I think as an advancement I would say I need to figure out why my odometer isn’t working so I don’t get my car taken if I get pulled over also when it is on it has a few lights that don’t really ever go out anymore it happened randomly my emergency break thing said it was in place when it wasn’t and one that has a exclamation mark in a circle that one and my tyre thing that I know is broken but it’s that and like two others I think also btw thank you for taking the time to respond to me I need all I can get for this topic

Were you able to use the advanced search feature to find the workups for the above codes, or would it help if someone posted them for you?

It doesn't sound like you have all of the codes, try scanning at all of the various autoparts stores or see if using another code reader helps.

With the combination meter not working, you may not get the warning lights, and that probably also keeps you from using the easy no-scan-tool method of getting the brake trouble codes, where you get the warning lights to blink them out.

But we can narrow things down a little because, although there are a couple hundred possible brake system trouble codes, only a handful of them set off the long constant beep alarm. Those are mostly the ones that warn you the system can't pressurize the fluid to spec, so you know it isn't going to work properly and you'll have to use a ton of pressure.

ok so for me I did take it to auto zone and they said it was giving off a few new codes I don’t have to paper with me right now but it had so to with the coolant temperature system thing which is ok cause I could do that myself but the other said it was with the abs motor

So this is what it shows at all times now too

Ok so I took it to a auto zone and the paper is in my car so I can’t do that at this moment but it did say that my coolant thing isn’t working right the coolant temperature sensor and the abs motor it’s working right either and this picture is of what it’s like now when the lights do turn on also thank you tons for the odometer thing that seems incredibly helpful thank you :)
