Prior to buying my Prime I scoured these forums and could find no specific, recent recommendation or link to a cell phone holder that actually works with the vertical vent that sits on the left side of the Prius Prime with that huge (and ridiculous, but that's another story) center screen.

I'm right-handed and my job requires frequent interactions with customers. It's usually one screen tap but it must be done quickly and in order for this to be done safely on the road, my phone screen must be comfortably within my field of view.

I did some new searches but no luck. THEN, I remembered that I had a box with all my old cell phone holders. Lo and behold, I had one (pulled from another car with which it didn't work very well, 2 years ago) and it is just PERFECT for my Prime. Woohoo!

It has a little hook that wraps around a vent blade. You will want to install it at the very top of the air vent, as per the attached pictures. This locks the vent in place (as do all phone holders based on this hook design) but I find that to be no inconvenience since the air blows in onto the steering wheel at about 2 o'clock, and then onto my body.

The name of the gizmo is: Bestrix Car Phone Mount Holder SmartClamp Air Vent Cell Phone Car Holder

    Here's a shamazone link:

Apologies for the poor pics. I hope this helps some of you.

Thats fine, if you don't mind blocking your heads up display. I am looking for a similar solution, but I don't want to block anything important.

I just installed a mount called Vicseed off Amazon. It works great! Does not block vents or any displays and is at the perfect eye level and just snaps into place allowing me to easily rotate it to either vertical or horizontal.

What in the world are you talking about?
    1) My car has no HUD.
    2) This holder isn't blocking anything important.

Thanks for posting this, it's a pretty intriguing device. I've read the reviews and I'd be quite concerned about these issues:
    1) The swivel ball apparently has zero force/pressure adjustment. Not good.
    2) It's hard to believe that such strong magnets would not affect GPS readings. Am I wrong?
    3) Last but not least, I have never had any sticker adhere long-term to car surfaces in hot weather, and that includes a rearview mirror that fell off...
I'd love to be wrong though.

Valid concerns and will update as time goes, but as of now no issues with GPS readings. It's true there are no swivel ball adjustments and yes i've always had issues with sticking in the past with other mounts so will see how it goes.

Meanwhile, I found out that this brand also offers a kinda hybrid phone holder (pun intended):

The Vicseed mount is still going strong. Really holds the phone firmly in place and as of today no signs of feeling weak.

Check out ProClipUSA. Just got one and really like it so far.

I'm afraid that buying an entire brand is beyond my means...

We use and love the ProClipUSA mount for our Sienna but on the Prius Prime the ProClip mounting location is just weird. Not easy to view while driving or easy to reach. Might as well just leave the phone in the Primes built in wireless charge cubby.
