    Florida is in better shape than Virginia region because we have Sea level rise + Shore Line Sinking
    Sinking due to ground water extraction + glacial period rebound. Approx equal magnitude at current rate of sea level rise.

    Sea level rise is happening faster in Virginia, however, I am guessing Florida has a lot more acreage closer to sea level.

    The water extraction in Florida just causes sinkholes that swallow houses.

    The Gulf of Mexico's level has been rising faster than average.
