Would you prefer a topic regarding the current Hummer EV? or ..... if discontinued efficient non GM cars are one's forte - there's the prius v & c. Or, maybe even start a thread on complaining about everyone's threads you don't like.

You mean how I can nearly match my Prius Prime's average (12.7kWh/100km) in my significantly heavier EV6?

    12.8kWh/100km = 4.88 mi/kWh.

Your EV can get to 60mph in under 10 seconds. Such power with efficiency is simply impossible.

The only way to do better would be to pay a ton more cash for the the Mercedes eqs with its 0-60mph in 3 seconds - amazing 2.0 drag cd - 350 mile range ev.

So the Chevy Bolt is dead...and good riddance! When you buy a new car the last thing you want is to hear is, "Don't park in your garage or near anything flammable as the car could start on fire at any time!" (And the Bolt isn't the only GM vehicle to have these warnings, lately. I've known American auto makers were lousy since the 70's but come on!!!)

And, now, to add even more stupidity upon stupid, Chevy is going to be making vehicles in China and importing to the US for sale. Nothing like giving the middle finger to American Auto Workers, huh, GM?? (Nothing like bailing out GM with over $50 Billion in 2008!! Taxpayer money well wasted...should've just let them go away.)

GM creating new import business of iconic vehicles from U.S. to China

How is that any different than building them in Japan?

I believe the bx4z uses motors manufactured in China, and at least one variant definitely has batteries made in China.

I don't get the obsession with boomers and GM 40 years ago. Let's talk about Prius head gaskets from a decade back. Much more recent. Or hell, Toyotas sludge issues with the Camry/highlander/etc

I believe Toyota with the closing of NUMMI and moving the production to non union plants in texas and mississippi has no more UAW workers. I believe UAW is only in Ford, GM, and Stelantis and ford is the only one of those that has not been bailed out by taxpayers. The issue isn't UAW workers, it is american manufacture. GM is exporting more vehicles to China its biggest market.

I don't think GM could overcome the battery issue. Even if it is fully corrected there still is the perception and fear that they did a bad job. GM is going to be selling more expensive BEVs and likely more profitable. Price of batteries are going down after a supply chain problem that caused an increase. I hope the new gm batteries are better, and they are sucessful, but I agree it was a proper business decision to kill the bolt.

Seems to afflict the tow harness circuit board. A 12V electrical short/fire is no slouch either.

This was a problem caused by the battery manufacturer LG, not Chevy's fault. It was also a problem in other EV's, but the Bolt got the limelight. Furthermore, the problem was resolved. Bolts no longer have this same problem.

The sad thing for me is the loss of the Bolt (and Bolt EUV) means getting an EV on a budget in the USA may now be gone.

What is now the cheapest EV available after the Bolt and Bolt EUV are gone? The Nissan Leaf is, but it also has terrible battery problems to the point that they just buy back cars when you say "Oh, Nissan! My car can't go more than 50 miles for some reason! Help!" And this is a problem Nissan had since it's first 2011 Leaf that they haven't even tried to resolve.

If you need that +250 range the next cheapest EV is the Hyundai Kona Electric for $7,390 more just based of base MSRP, and $14,890 more than the Bolt if you qualify for the full federal tax credit.

So if you feel it's great to have to pay $14,890 more to get into an EV, then good for you! Personally I'm very sad.
