    Hi All,

I just put in new brakes, rotors and front wheel bearings in my car. It has 252,000 on it. It runs and drives great however, the slippery road warning comes on a lot when braking, and when I am on the highway, the abs warning lights come on. It goes off when I get off the highway.

Any idea why this is happening. I took it back and he used the scanner to reset.

    TIA

What codes did he reset . Need them to diagnose. More than likely a loose plug that goes to a wheel sensor but it will tell you that in the codes before you reset them usually you write them down or print them off The shop should so the customer knows what the shop saw and if they just reset it they should tell you that and that's that so it's been reset? Now are the codes back and are the traction control light still coming on? When the traction control light comes on what's happening Do you feel the car stutter or shutter like it's trying to catch wheel speeds so they all match or something like that? I'm assuming all the tires on the car are the same size this makes a difference just one number being different will set the sensors off anytime you're driving especially trying to get above 55.

New tires in January. when I break it , it doesn't stop evenly sounds like the brakes are rubbing the drums or something.

Did he road test the car before or after the repair job? Since you've already paid, I would take it back and tell him to fix it properly this time.

It was road tested but not on the highway. I did take it back once and he scanned it and recalibrated it. He told me to bring it back if I still had the issue.

Sounds like something "happened" to a wheel speed sensor or tone ring (toothed ring on the front axle outer CV joint). Maybe there's corrosion under a sensor mount, or it got damaged.

Might be helpful to know what codes were stored when the ABS light was on.

I took it to the mechanic yesterday afternoon and I believe it was a tooth ring. He ordered another one and it will be in today. I will keep you posted.
