    Howdy again guys & gals!

Just a quick update as it's been many, many moons since posting here...

Last month marked 1 full year since I've been living in my Prius. While it's surely been challenging at times - especially because I'm a stroke survivor with impaired walking & balance - I can honestly say that it is one of the best moves I ever made in my life.

Instead of sitting in an apartment day in & day out dwelling on the bad hand I was dealt (the stroke), I'm out in the beautiful world meeting others and constantly pushing myself to new heights.

I've also saved quite a bit of cash from not having to pay rent, which is a heck of a nice bonus!

If anyone wishes to follow my journey, I'll be posting a link to my website under the living life in a prius section here tonight.

    Now onto the car itself...

UPDATE: I got the instrument cluster repaired about 6 months ago by R.T. Grim Electronics in Camp Hill, PA. It cost about $400 and came with a 1 year warranty in case it failed again, which thankfully hasn't happened.

They did the whole repair in about 2.5 hours, and 6 months later it's still working fine. The only negative was...

They cracked the dashboard on the silver trim sections above both the a/c vents to the immediate left & right of the center display screen.

They claimed that the clips were impossible to pry loose, and they never saw them that tight before, so they had to break them. They did glue both pieces back together with Gorilla glue, but they never offered to compensate me by discounting the cost of the job, and basically had the view that "Hey, it's an older car, there's nothing we could do."

They also put the dashboard back in slightly askew, and it's not sitting flush with some of the buttons and stuff. IMO, sloppy work, but I'm not gonna bitch because the main issue was fixed fine.

Overall - knock wood - the car is running fine. But I've been dealing with a new issue which is perplexing.

The pips on the gas gauge randomly start moving up and down. This happens at least a few times per day. And it's been occurring for months now. Eventually, they usually settle back down to where they’re supposed to be after bouncing around for a few minutes, but it's weird...and I hope not indicative of a larger problem that's brewing.

Here's a link to a video I took showing this in action: https://www.veed.io/view/8d3d0ac4-3401-4b1c-b9e9-150712b7d53a?panel=share

Again, other than that, car is running fine. Only other peculiar thing is the bladder issue I asked about before. I CANNOT put more than 3.5 to 4 gallons in my car. I usually fill up when 3 pips are left.

Anywho, sorry for the long-winded message, but I wanted to say thanks for everyone's help and to give an update.

Please let me know if you have any idea on the dancing pips.

IMO that a reasonable viewpoint. If you did the job and cracked a vent what would you decide? I bet you'd just go, "Well it's an old car and these things happen." Would you think it worth the cost to replace it or would you just super-glue it together and call it a day?

Excuse the shameless bump of this post, but I haven't gotten any feedback on what the cause of the erratic fuel pips might be.

If you can please watch the video I linked to and watch this activity that I recorded, I'd appreciate it. Any thoughts on why this is happening, if it's a serious issue, and possible fixes are welcomed. Thanks

This is only serious if YOU think it is. Most people don't.

Could be the sender in the tank (most likely), the gauge itself or a loose connection
    somewhere in between.

It is a fairly common problem that most people just live with, I think.
