    Having a balanced point of view does help as neither an exaggerated optimism nor extreme pessimism is healthy.

    Just please let there be a Prius with a stickshift. I don't care if it runs on hydrogen or oxygen or both.

    That's one possible future. Another one is where people realize that most of the time they can refuel their vehicles at home, taking just a few seconds, and the 10 or 20% of the time that they are on long road trips they can recharge enough to get to their next stop in just 15 minutes or so.
