Yes, and that endodontist outsourced the manufacture of the replacement crown, so I had to go home and live with a conical tooth-stump and then go back again when the crown arrived.

Current dentist has a little 3D intraoral camera arrangement linked to software controlling a little CNC mill in the next room. Your crown is ready in the same visit. If I ever have to take him up on that, I think it'll be much less annoying.

A couple years ago I had two crowns made and installed in the same visit. But that was back in SoCal. Loved the name of their office;
"The Simple Tooth"
That dentist let me watch his mapping machine map out the shape of existing teeth - as well as watch his teeny CNC machine fabricate the teeth.
Pretty cool. 1½hrs later - done &back at home doing chores.

Gave myself a root canal when I was 4 or 5... wasn't fun. Smashed my 2 front teeth (baby teeth thankfully) and they caused the adult teeth waiting to come out to have no nerves.

 

Interesting. Is there any noticeable effect of having a tooth that never had a nerve?

 

They don't feel cold or hot and they discoloured.

Recently - kind of a retirement gift to self, i got all my choppers capped. They were pretty worn by age 60. Ortho's offer varying shades of colors - from almost coffee stained - to bright white that reaches into the next room even before you get there.
Teeth that bright/white do NOT look real.
Having all your teeth ground off in one visit for crowns? It's a sound like right out of a nightmarish horror movie.

None, so far, thankfully…

 

Mine have never been super lively, and I'm ok with that.

 

All I can say is...when I'm Biden's age ( if I ever get there ), I hope I'm as healthy and in shape as he is. Given his age, and all the stress ALL presidents have to endure, I'm pretty amazed at how well his presidency has went. I have to give credit where credit is due.

From the neck up, he's in moderately good health, but his gyros have been tumbling a LOT lately.
I have genuine misgivings about his ability to make it through another 578 days.....

I have 3 near-nonagenarian aunts who think that he's in pretty pitiful shape, especially from the neck up but then they still walk, work out, bowl, etc....
Their mom (my beloved Grandmother) was still driving when she was deep into her 90's.
She kicked off after breaking a hip because her walker "made her look like an old woman."
She went into surgery and didn't come back.
I remember when 'the sisters" met to come up with a strategery for taking her keys.
My advice then was to double her liability insurance and wait for my beloved state of Indiana to down-check her for her next license renewal.
Indiana requires renewals, in person and with vision tests every two years when you're at Biden+4 and they can require additional tests if you're stumbling about or can't remember how many states there are.

The 'keys' talks came to an abrupt shuddering halt when my grandmother passed her test at the DMV with ease, and was a very good driver until she finally agreed to give up her car and be chauffeured about town by 5 children and over a dozen grandchildren.

I hope I drank deeply and generously from that end of my gene pool, but I made plans in case I suffer from acute age-related cognitive decline...
