Reset ECU after replacing hv

    Should I reset the ECU after installing a rebuilt HV battery?

    no such thing, if you're refer to clearing the codes present then yes but you don't have to since it will clear itself (if no issues). Disconnecting the battery alone clears the ECM (engine side only) codes.

    Thanks. Would it be normal for the ICE to run more initially? I haven’t driven it except around the block and dr prius reports all pretty much good

    It might if the hv battery charge is depleted. Normally it would not run for more than a minute to add a little charge. If it does not normalize quickly after one ten minute drive (eg no engine at stop lights w ac on) then I would question the quality of the used battery.

    just did a 45 minute test drive and you are correct. The ICE settled down. Thanks! I don’t expect this battery to last more than a year, although I have a 3 year guarantee and I’m going to start sourcing a new Toyota battery.

    I live in Denver and used Aplushybrid. Frankly I was stuck, the old battery chapped out-4 year old rebuild- and I needed mobile install.
