Not everybody diy's their own head gasket or rebuilds their own battery. However too many pay $16k in 2023 for a ten year old gen3 only to face those issues in their first years of ownership.

But I guess they should research first, hope they don't read fanboy responses, learn the hybrid system like a Toyota Master Mechanic and should really know how to fix their own car.

Which is precisely why there's no such thing as a 300K mile club for Gen3 Prius, at least yet...

I would think most all Gen 3's at 300K would be on their second large piece of equipment engine battery possibly transmission etc I mean I got the 260 something almost 280 I can't exactly remember I have to look at the pictures so that was pretty close but no cigar The Gen 2 I don't know I'm at 3:10 3:30 somewhere in there I have to do some math to figure it out because my speedometer is not correct and when I added the other one I have to do a little math to make it all happen but it's close enough I'm heading into the 400s any minute and more than likely we'll get to the 666 it looks like

Yes, at least yet. Too soon. Give it another 10 years so peoples cars can get up to 300k first. The gen 2 had a headstart.

Only 3% of Prii ever make 200k before they are junked or wrecked. Otherwise you are primarily talking about delivery or taxi services, both of which have no problem changing engines or performing other major maintenance. What is left are statistical outliers (the million mile Accord) or the individual who stretches the truth.

    You know my methods, Watson:

    2000 km a year is
1240 miles when divided by 52 is
    23.85 miles a week
Which means you walk a lot
Therefore there must be good sidewalks
And since you are Mendel they should be excellent
So the logical deduction is they are new

After Watson is once again astounded by the logic, Sherlock Tombutk is shown persuing recent Priuschat posts by Mendel (which is quite a feat in itself unless he first filtered out posts mentioning egr).

I’d already done the conversion, from around 3k kms per year. But yes, either way, don’t think I’ll never 300k, anything.
