We bought this car several months ago. It's a 2010 with about 165,000 miles. The fuel mileage has been disappointing, we make consistently about 30-35 mpg. We've put several thousand miles on it. We have discovered that it uses a lot of oil, about a quart to 400 miles, and it also has had the brake light on most of the time since we got it. But I think that is all irrelevant to the big problem but wanted to include that info as well.

On the second last time we used the car, it was about a 50 mile round trip, and I noticed a noise part of the time when under acceleration. The noise I would describe as kind of like putting your finger lightly into a running fan. The last time we used it it made it about 25 miles before stalling, with a message in the display saying "check hybrid system". It was also had been making the noise. It will not even try to start. We towed it home.

I searched the forum and couldn't find anything with this combination of codes.

All 4 of those codes could be caused by the inverter. There is an extended warranty for the inverter, and it may cover these codes. Do a search for the extended inverter warranty. If it is covered, toyota dealership will fix it for free.

Edit: Call your local dealership and ask if the codes you received are covered under the extended inverter warranty.

Edit#2: It looks like code P0A1A qualifies you for the extended inverter warranty. Do NOT clear your trouble codes. The extended warranty also pays to have the car towed to the dealership up to $250.

I think there's a mileage that you have to be under to get that done I want to say under 150 I have no idea what it is I don't think it's just forever You can go get an inverter from LKQ for near free It may have the update campaign sticker already on it I think after 2011 or 12 the points moot as they're all done so there is that nobody keeps these things they rarely fail even on this list I don't think you'll find a whole lot of people replacing inverters or the maybe doing it mistakenly. It's pretty rare I keep a few extras here and I've never used one and all the prii I've repaired.
