SKS keyless start suddenly not working (and no its not the KEY button)

So now you have to insert the remote in the slot to start the car Is this correct?

 

While you're playing around trying to get this new fob working what are you using t i s software or? Did you have your remote apart at all? If so did you lose the little chip in the bottom of the remote?

 

You likely deleted the SKS programming.

You can't program a used fob for SKS. You will notice in the video he clearly says he purchased a brand-new OEM fob from a dealer and it had never been programmed.

 

Yeah one locksmith told me the little tiny transponder chip in the bottom of the remote only works when insert it into the slot kind of like my Italian motorcycle everything else I guess is handled by the green board which is numbered and has something to do with the white box behind the cup holder in the console. So TIS can't even do this function?

 

I second the opinion that you managed to erase the working fob from SKS.

At this point you are looking at having a dealer or capable locksmith program fobs to get SKS working. They would get a special code that "resets" the smart key (certification?) ecu. I have read (but do not know) that going this route allows used fobs to be programmed.

The DIY (chicken dance) procedure or a capable scantool can be used to add a NEW fob but requires that you have one fully functional fob.

Seems to me if you were able to catch a car coming into LKQ with this option like I regularly see if you got the key fob or fobs and you got the white box behind the cup holder for the rear passengers from the console you would have a matching business It seems like there may be another computer in there too The security computer or whatever it's called so you get that one too and then the fob with the car goes with the white thing in the console and the other computer wherever it is and you have them then that should just plug into your car maybe need TIS to make something recognize something else but I'm thinking probably not and then that fob that went with those parts should work You could probably get all those parts at LKQ for next to nothing because to those guys that stuff is kind of worthless believe it or not

 

The white unit in the console does have something to do with the SKS, but it is not the certification ECU. Toyota calls it the indoor electrical key oscillator. Its function is to detect that the key fob is in the car.
