The used car market is still far from normal.

EV's are more like electronics devices than traditional automobiles.

Everyone knows how smart phones depreciate when the new version comes out.

If one can do with an older version that serves all his or her needs, it's a bargain even over traditional ICE vehicles.

Why do you post this GOP anti-EV garbage here?

All new cars depreciate in value and the more expensive the car, the greater the depreciation. Of course this article is written by a professional liar who solely represents the interests of the world's richest oligarchs. So despite Tesla depreciating far less than other EVs this bozo claims that they do... And by bozo I mean the author's bio on the website associates him with the all evangelical psychos at Jerrry Falwell's college:

"Addison has also worked with Liberty University's Standing for Freedom Center as a social media manager and the College Fix as a student reporter. Both he and his work have been featured in Fox News, Daily Wire, Breitbart, NewsMax, The Blaze, One America News Network and more." https://justthenews.com/addison-smith

Please stop insulting our intelligence with braindead nonsense @asjoseph

Once again the OP attempts to spread his propaganda citing an extremely based, highly questionable source. When he starts using reliable, factually credible sources I might actually consider reading it. For now I will continue not bothering to click on his garbage.

Exactly... Thanks for saying that! OP posts right-wing hate troll tropes and then reports my replies for being "too political." So immature and irresponsible. At least most of the worst of Trump and all his loser ways are starting to die off... Sure hope that continues!

Err, wha? Do you have a source for this? I have a 400 mile range on a good day, it doesn't have a "limp mode", and the online estimators suggest less than half the value of when it was new. (n)

I have two Toyota hybrids. a '19 Rav4 with 30k miles I could sell for within $1k of what I bought it for. A '21 Avalon hybrid with about 20k miles. I could sell it for $1,500 over what I paid for it. KBB figures for my location. Yes, in today's market by those figures they retain value well. Each cost tens of thousands less that a comparable EV at the time of purchase.

Now however, if you want a small sedan, discounts are becoming available on inventory Model 3s at some locations, So the math may be changing.

the only ev's i can find on lots start at $60,000. and up, and do not qualify for $7,500. tax credit.

meanwhile, if i want a tesla model 3 base in blue with white interior, they will build it for me for delivery in august.
    pricing as follows:

    $42,000. msrp
$11,000. state and fed tax credit
    $7,000. trade in
    $24,000. net before ttl.
not too shabby, try that with gm,ford, bmw,vw,huyndi,et al

State and federal tax incentive is the hard match - right this minute.

If you hold on to your hat for 2 to 3 years you will have more to choose from at cheaper prices than you could imagine.

Think GM, Toyota, Ford, KIA, Hyundai, BMW, VW and more that are currently building or have plants in the US and Battery Plants under construction in the US that will all qualify for the incentives.

(Toyota is currently installing the equipment to build a 3 row all electric SUV at its Kentucky Plant with the batteries supplied from its North Carolina Battery Plant-will be on the lots in 2025.)

With your criteria wait 2 years - then run your qualifying test again - you will have to add a lot more manufacturers and vehicles at that time.

If your the type that can't wait - then buy a Tesla today they seem to be great cars!

And those numbers are precisely why Toyota Corolla is no longer the number 1 selling car in the world, the Tesla Model Y now is. And Toyota has no one to blame but themselves from going from first place to last place when the transition to EV finally hit.

Meanwhile the Ford F-150 just dropped in price and the pundits are calling it an EV price war even thought its not.

if ford can't sell enough e-150's, it's either because the perceived value isn't there, or their customers don't want an electric pickup

I watched some dude in an electric F-150 floor it while pulling out of a parking lot and if people aren't buying it's definitely not because it's not big and aggressive enough, it's more so now. Of course maybe not being loud or smokey enough is the problem?
