Can you disable the phone functionality if you have BT in the car already on this UGREEN device?

Just noticed your reply, ha, happened to use my phone the other day and oem bluetooth worked ok. May check next time I use the Prius, once every couple weeks. Yes I have Prius on a maintainer.

You're talking apples and oranges here. That bluetooth adapter, which I had a similar "solution" before this unit, just gives you wireless sound and does not give you any of the features and comfort the VLine unit being spoken about in this thread gives you. And while the cost of the VLine seems a bit on the high side, getting a new aftermarket headunit with similar functionality will cost you about the same so just have to pick what you prefer: how much time and work you want to put in customizing, wiring up, etc. or spend 30 minutes to install this thing and practically keep everything the same.

One way is to get an aftermarket head unit combined with an iDatalink Maestro pod. That pod allows native car menus to be accessed from the aftermarket touchscreen. Things would look different, but you'd retain access.

The general idea is that some aftermarket car stereos have CarPlay support. Some have iDatalink support. A few support both. One example linked here.

An outfit like Crutchfield can give you good advice on a system that properly suits your needs. I'm a satisfied customer, they've sold me many parts over the years.

Yes. The Grom Vline VL2 and Vlite VT2 will plug into the back of the stock stereo and basically override what the CD/Aux feature normally displays on the screen. By doing this the control unit then provides Android Auto and Apple Car Play capabilities to the stock stereo while still retaining all functions of the display. And in the case of the Vlite you get all that for about the same price of an aftermarket headunit as seen in the link contained in the post above mine.

Just was gifted a Prius and was wondering if something like this would work. Would say I'm impressed, but I mean, if a Nissan R32 from the 90s (or really any 90s car) can do this I would hope a Prius could.
