I can't find in Torque where I can see the temperature of MG1, MG2 and the inverter. Beside the SoC, I see nothing related to the EV part of the car. I have Torque Pro (not Light). Is there something I must do/configure for them to show? Are they shown under a different name?

How do you get to see MG2 Temperature and MG1 Inverter temperature? They don't show up on mine. Must they be manually added? If so, do you know what need to be entered?

    Thanks for your help.

Be sure Car Scanner is setup for a Prius.

Create a Dashboard using the gauge symbol and then edit it to use a specific sensor.

There is an All Sensors list as well. No setup for about 350 specific sensors and data points.

Sensor Select from Dashboard Gauge edit

thanks for the in-depth reply. I did have the Toyota Prius Gen-IV (2015-) selected in Connection profiles. I then saw there is a Toyota Prius Prime specific profile, so I chose that instead. Now, I have nothing with MG in it

I had connected my cheap blue translucide "Mini" ELM327 ODB2 connected to the Prius, so I tried my ODBLink LX I have in my Tesla instead and I get the same results

I don't know how you get to see those sensors, this video has exactly the same sensors I'm seeing and they are not there:

Did you add custom sensors? If so, do you mind sharing them with me?

Which vehicle did you choose in your profile and what OBD2 device do you have of you don't mind me asking?

So, to get all these, you need to select Gen3, which, of course, doesn't have any valid data for a Prius Prime The Gen4 do show some data, but far less than what the Gen3 is showing you. Prime is showing even less data than Gen4

Have you tried Hybrid Assistant instead of Torque? Temperatures for everything are shown with no configuration. TBH, I don't know if there's anything you can configure in HA. It includes so many things that I've never looked for anything else. It also stores data and can create a report that shows an unbelievable amount of data on your trip. I've attached the temperature graph for a recent trip.

thanks. I'll give it a try. Torque has nothing and Car Scanner has only limited information about a Prius Prime.

Well, I've come to the conclusion that the Prime has limited sensors compared to the standard Prius. Can't see any of the MG/Inverter temperature with it. They stay at 0.

You should try Techstream. I am sure they are there but the addressing must be different.

All I can tell you is that Hybrid Assistant recommends either the OBDLink LX that you mentioned earlier or the OBDLink MX that I have. The graph above was generated by HA for my 2020 Prius Prime - Base Model.

Does HA show you any info? Does it tell you it's connected to a Prius Prime?

Check out their Youtube channel ( Hybrid Assistant - YouTube ). There are videos there that show you what the screens look like. I didn't see one that showed the Prius Prime, but the temperature screen looks the same.

Yes, it does tell me it's connected to my Prius Prime. I've put the
OBDLink LX back in the Tesla (ScanMyTesla requires it), which is at home and I'm at the cottage right now. Once back home, I'll put it back in the Prius and see what data I can extract. Thanks again.

No. I think you are quite far from using it successfully. It is windows pc software sold and used by Toyota. Google is your friend. If it is a data point in a Toyota it can read, write, configure and reprogram as applicable. The gold standard.

There are illegal hacks sold everywhere but requires registry hacks to a pc and the hacked version has to stay offline.

All dealers and many mechanics have Techstream.

Why don't you explain what problem you are trying to solve? You might be off in left field.

Honestly everyone else can get this data with the tools described above. Could be user error.

No problem, just curious. Like I mentioned in a different post, I have ScanMyTesla for my Tesla and it gives a slew of information about the car. Just trying to see what's available on the Prius.
