I was able to buy a 2023 prius limited on April 18 of this year and a month later on May 18 I had an accident in which the fender, hood, rim, bumper, headlight and a few other parts were affected. Am waiting over two months and they still have not been able to repair my vehicle due to no parts available for repair. The biggest problem is t the body shop does not know when they can repair the vehicle. be very careful on the street as there are no parts available for our beloved vehicles

Ugh. That is brutal.....Sounds like early model parts woes... Can you get a loaner car with your insurance?

So sorry you are having to deal with this. Glad you are okay and still have your older Prius. Even if they had the parts some body shops near me are still backed up due to part issues even for older cars. It’s too bad they are allowed to release a new model/design without basic repair parts being available. Hang in there!

imagine if people were waiting for the new prius because repair parts weren't available?
or because they can only supply one for?
    heads would explode :p

Nightmare scenario! It seems like the G5 can cause just as much pain as it does pleasure.

If you are a late model G4 owner; If you are a fan of the no-frills utilitarian Prius; If you are trying to find one and can't; If you have to pay a ransom fee just to sit at the table; if you wreck it.....

Everything else about the car is pure joy! :p

OMG!!!!!!!:eek:And I suppose he paid $80 for wheel locks that supposedly don’t prevent this kind of thief. I guess he doesn’t know yet if cat converter was stolen too. Ugh! :(

So where do you get reliable wheel sensor alarms?

Best to park in a garage. But that may not be an option for some people. I have seen people go as far as buying 3 wheel locking lug nut kits each with a different pattern. Install them and then fill the negative space with hi temp wax. You will need a portable torch to heat and melt the wax out to get them off...This adds time to a tire change but it is cheaper than having your wheels stolen,or buying a new place with a garage. Or beef up your insurance to cover vandalism. I've not heard of a wheel alarm.

Wouldn't a good old fashioned siren alarm with flashing lights and a very sensitive motion trigger work well as a discouragement? Add to that a 360 dash camera and you've got a decent defense.

What brand tires came with your LE? The Prius I let go of had Michelin and this “other one” has Toyo. Just curious about ride quality of Toyo. I know Michelin are more expensive and wear quickly. A couple of reviews on Toyo say excellent and then there is a screeching review that they are awful on wet roads.

Yes I know this is the wrong place to post this!

: ) I know Michelin are good tires. The Toyo reviews are not for this identical tire but they say they are not good in the rain and I’m nervous in the rain due to a bad accident I was in years ago. I’m going to post on the post specific for tires and see what people say. Love my Continental Contacts. Great wear and no issues so far.

I have run 4 sets of Ecopia 422 PLus tires on my both 2008 Prii. Great wear and perfect in wet weather and snow.
