This was a good read from AAA battery service. I am bias against AAA batteries they are only have a warranty of 2 years and you are paying about the same price as the Toyota OEM.

AAA Battery was 242 USD warranty 2 years

Toyota OEM 260 USD warranty 85 months or 7 years

Better buy the Toyota OEM. I had to replace AAA batteries every 2 years on the dot. Dont trust them.

LONG battery warranties are just a marketing gimmick.......and you seem to have bought into it.

After their "free replacement" interval runs out, you often don't save much or anything on their
    pro-rated replacement cost.

There is no way to know for sure that an "OEM" battery would not have failed in about
    the same time frame.

Note: I have never had a battery from AAA.
But over about 60 years of driving, I've had them from a LOT of other places
and seldom from an OEM dealer.

It's fine that you don't trust AAA for batteries.
But your personal experience really proves nothing.

I have heard that in some cases the battery is the same, you just pay more for the "extended warranty". I usually buy the 2 year and they last about 4-7 yrars.

Sam, this is just my experience. I have no vested interest in helping or hurting AAA. I just hope my wisdom can help other prius owners. Also this has happened twice with AAA batteries. 2 years and another 2 years of the same.

A new Toyota OEM battery corrected the problem. I have 1 month of no intermittent starts with a Toyota OEM 12V battery. This is my experience and I do not need to prove it to you.

It must be tough relying on no one’s experience but your own.

I am NOT questioning the facts of your experience.

I AM questioning the conclusion that you have drawn.......and that you are advertising.
That does not necessarily qualify as "wisdom".
The scientific community calls that "anecdotal evidence".

Your experience might have been exactly the same with a different battery supplier.

And you are now conveniently ignoring what I said about Optima too.

And THIS post from you is a perfect example of that.
