    You post from the UK. Is this display based upon U.S. gallons, or Imperial gallons?

    That's pretty good! .... it's same efficiency as our 5,000+ Lb minivan

    messing w/ you aside, there were even some folks who could actually achieve over 80 MPG across an entire tank of gas ... even on the Gen 2 Prius getting over 800 miles on a single tank (in japan). Best I ever did in the genII Prius was not quite as lofty;

    Several of us here on PC are quite fond of pushing the MPG limits. Moral of the story - there's always another that's the fastest gun in the west ... until they're not.
    ;)
    What part of the UK are you in Jagga -
    Somewhat familiar with the island after doing a semester in Cambridge decades ago and then took my better ½ there on a couple of weeks vacation during the mid 2000's.

    Some Japanese Gen2 drivers started posted records at over 1400 miles/tank, ending at over 1800 miles on a single tank, over 118 mpg (U.S. gallons). Though they had the advantage of a larger, no-fuel-bladder tank, and a 'special' refueling technique:

    Driving and commuting conditions in the U.S. are quite unfavorable for this league of MPG competition. I recall a few folks here breaking 1000 miles, though on special drives, not on regular work commutes.

    one of the few benefits of having to be on the road at 4:00 a.m. prior to retiring was a six-lane Boulevard that paralleled Interstate 5 from South Orange County to the middle of the county. So few cars even coming from the opposite direction .... one could count them with just one hand. It made ideal pulse & glide driving for nearly 20 miles. But taking more than 2X as long to get to & from work got old really fast.
    ;)
    Much of that pulse & glide area used to be a decommissioned marine base & orange orchards - which is now filled w/ houses & commercial strip malls in its place ... way more traffic.

    i a, based in birmingham and its daytime driving using hybrid driving techniques i am sure your all familiar with. i used a product called liqui moly ceratec oil change before the last which ceramic coats the engine for 50 thousand kilometers and reduces friction this was further enhanced by using liqui moly mos2 on the last oil change with reduced friction even further on the engine making it silky smooth and very quiet. i am sure these 2 products helped me achieve that mpg. tyres are michelin cross climate 2 with a B rolling resistance with pressure 37 front 35 rear. looks like i might get close to 600 miles on this tank but its hard to keep up the concentration levels needed to achieve 82mpg. btw i fill her up at 1 or 2 bars left never let it go below that.

    Thermal expansion oughta strike soon with fuel engine oil dilution.

    going to switch to crossclimate2's next month - as our Michelin energies have about 60k miles on 'em. Really good reports on the crossclimate2's in snow / rain & dry roads. Costco is supposed to have $150 off sale starting on the 27th.
