The alarm for the seatbelts in my rear seats has started to go off on its own. It just goes off at completely random times every hour or so. It's extremely annoying and I figured I might as well disable the seatbelt alarms so I don't have to hear it go off anymore. I know there is a way to disable the seatbelt alarms on my own with a scanner and a dongle but I am not familiar with the process. Could someone who knows how to do this please walk me through this process step by step?

(Before any trolls try to tell me to go Google it or look it up on YouTube, I have already tried that and couldn't find anything that explains the process specifically for a 2017 Gen 4 Prius and no it's not in the manual)

    Thanks

    Joe

Take it to the dealer. (That's column 3). The owner's manual will never contain information on the specific process of using a scanner.

Alternatively, Carista will list it out in a plain user-friendly table, no programming knowledge required. No "process" needed.

Or you could get a dog tether leash and insert it into the seatbelt clip. But following Tideland Prius advice is a great deal more effective and intelligent. JMHO
And while you’re at the dealership you could even have them repair it. Now there’s a novel idea

Removing that box or cooler full of ice and beer from the back seat might work too.
