Just got my Prime back from the friends over at RSR! They test fit some prototype springs and they are fantastic! Ride feels just like OEM, but no more wheel gap :).

What's the ground clearance with the springs?

That looks sweet! Looks to be a great balance between reducing the wheel gap while still retaining some ground clearance. I'm looking to get my Prime LE lowered as well and have been trying to get as much info as I can prior to actually going through with it. Are these lowering springs or actual coil overs? How's the ride quality?

These are prototype lowering springs. Not coilovers. Ride quality feels just like OEM (honestly I can’t tell a difference really) aside for slightly less body roll in cornering. These seem to be perfect for a daily!

Id have to measure but ground clearance is completely manageable for daily driving. We have an upslope chin so clearance really isn’t that big of an issue. For full transparency my other car is lower than this so I am used to driving lowered cars though.

Looks good, just the right amount of drop. Did they have to re-align it?

hey they are prototype springs. I would give RS-R a call directly to see when the production versions come to the US.

Does the prime use different rsr springs than the standard FWD Prius? Thanks!

I just installed these springs on my car. Overall it was a pretty straightforward job if you've done springs before. The only part that was different than most was that in order to get to the strut top nuts you have to remove the wipers and all of the plastic trim below the windshield which took me a little bit of time to figure out.

Super happy with the result. The AWD springs are supposed to do 20-25mm drop in the front, and 40-45mm in the rear. The fender gap is about 1 finger on the front and two in the rear now, not too low for a daily driver. I think it feels a tiny bit more firm and supported than stock but nothing I would consider harsh.

I was going to do the rear sway bar as well but the Cusco rear bar I received wouldn't work. It was straight where the stock bar has bend in it to go around the motor system. I sent it back for the front one instead, still waiting for that..

Pics later, it's absolutely atrocious outside at the moment.

So you didn’t have to get the camber adjusted after installing the springs?

Looks great! I ordered a few suspension items from TMR and will have them installed in a few weeks. Looking forward to the new look and feel.

Our Shop (Hybridpit) has installed about 5 sets of springs so far. RSR USA comfirmed the fitment but they only had 1 set to do that It will be readily available for the US market once the cargo container comes in
