I'm on the road this week in a very (deliberately) boring 2022 Camry SE. But I'm mostly carpooling with a buddy in a 2022 Dodge Charger.

By far the most interesting vehicles in the hotel lot are the customized hot air balloon haulers, there's some kind of aeronautical festival in town this week.

...Though it was kind of fun to watch the 3rd Tesla arriving at the fully occupied two-bay charging apparatus in front of the hotel. Would have been better if the ignoramus had realized he was holding up traffic behind him.

I finally spotted a 2023 Prius in motion on the highway today. (I saw a parked one a month ago)

It was silver and filthy and I'm honestly not sure which is the bigger insult to an otherwise good-looking car.

    CR-V Hybrid Touring

Edit: I think I saw a Town Ace in the mirror lol.

Not a lot of driving this week, but I keep passing a gorgeous large Mercedes-Benz sedan at the dodgy repair shop halfway between home and my kid's daycare.

I make it for a mid 60s model but I haven't worked out which one. Not as big as the 600 but larger than the common ones.

    EDIT: I got a better look today. Wow! A 300SEL 6.3!

Lots of sightings today but I guess “rare” dépends on your location but all the ones I see are in good condition. I don’t count those in “beater” condition.

3 Gen 3 Avalons (not sure why so many. I haven’t seen Avalons in ages, especially that generation. There’s a Gen 1 in the neighbourhood)

    EQB350 4Matic in copper colour

    RX-8

    2nd gen Saturn SW

    C70 convertible.

I remember liking those when they first came out, much like the Toyota Echo, and for some of the same reasons.

I'm driving a lot more this week, but the only thing I've seen even remotely worth a mention was a mid-80s Toyota Cressida in near-new condition.

My colleague had a Kizashi before he moved out of the country. Seemed pretty decent if you wanted a V6 and AWD - and at a lower price point than a Legacy or Outback (esp the 3.6R which was quite expensive).

Okay a few interesting spots lately:

    • early model Lexus LC 500
    • 1920s Packard saloon. Rough, running and for sale a few miles from my house in Pennsylvania.
    • A variant of the UH-60 helicopter, operating 100' directly above I-93 through South Boston yesterday
    • A classic Porsche 911 convertible. I wouldn't know which submodel but the details and color were about right for 1970.

Think that Porsche now qualifies for antique. By most definitions. In Pa, a car only needs to be over 25 years to be called antique.

    1G SC400 (refreshed model)

    2 Ford e-Transit vans

A kei car that I couldn't identify (regular 4-dr wagon, not a pickup truck or the more popular Delica or Figaro)

The McLaren Artura was on display (2 of them) at the Fully Charged Show.
