    Hello everyone!

I posted on some other threads but just saying hello to all my fellow and future Prius owners.

This is actually my first Toyota, having 6 Honda before. I used to LOVE my civic hybrid. I went from a Honda insight to this...and it's my new favorite.

I got the Limited with AWD and it has some extra things i needed need, but it took MONTHS to just find one with the exterior and interior color I wanted. (Wind Chill Pearl with Gray Interior). It also has the advanced park, digital rearview mirror, and heated rear seats.
I legit have never used the digital rearview mirror yet...
I LOVE the 360 advanced park camera though. I use that top down camera to park all the time.

    Posted some photos too!
I have only tinted the windows and removed the dumb badging on the back.

I have mudflaps to install just havent yet.

I got it in June of 2023 after being on wait-lists at 3 different dealers. I eventually, just found it myself on the inventory search on Toyotas website and drove to an out of state dealer to get it.

I have 5500 miles already. And every tank so far I've averaged between 54mpg - 61mpg. I've read others have had a time getting good gas mileage...but that hasn't been an issue for me. However, even with high mileage, you get like 475-525 miles per tank. It's a tiny one.

Anyway, I love everything about it save a few things:

I wish the gauge cluster was more customizable. Like make speedo bigger, colors, etc.

It also auto dims the gauge and infotainment screen based on ambient lighting. I've disabled the day/night mode auto changes but it appears you can fix this auto dimming. It drives me insane sometimes.

I also wish it had auto lock when you walk away from the car. Seems dumb it doesn't have that...

Well let me know any questions or share your car! I have only seen 2 other in my area since the car was unveiled...so still rare where I live.

    Love to see your cars!

    Congrats!

If you hold the handle for a second after closing the door the car will lock (or unlock).
Although not practical every time, the right hand rear hatch button will close it and lock the doors for the times you're using the trunk (Limited model feature).

Looks like cloth seats - are there no grey faux-leather options? I didn't know you could get a Ltd without the leather - but honestly I haven't paid much attention to the interior color options when perusing the Inventory site.

Pics of the new and the old, 2nd is after the tint job.

Congrats to both BlazetheSky and Gwyd! I drove the black LE, and although the wheels were better with the black paint, I will never own another black car again. Had a 1999 Honda Civic Si which was black, and I got unnaturally obsessed with keeping swirl marks off that car. It was stolen only a year from new, and after that I wiped my hands of ever having ANY black car again. Waaah!

I've only ever had red cars before and this is my first black one. I've washed this car more in the last 2 months than I washed the Gen 2 over 18 years. I hope I get over it soon and just accept that it will always look dirty - but it's just so dang sharp looking when it's clean! When it's clean and the sun hits it in the afternoon it looks like there's glitter in the paint that makes it almost shimmer when you're near it. Makes me smile big-big everytime.

I've hijacked this thread...back to the OP:

Blaze what do you think of the visibility of this Prius vs the Insight? I've always thought those looked like they had poor visibility out the back window?

The one thing with the visibility that I'm getting used to is NOT the rear window (although I never had a Prius before), it's how the mirror vs. the window aren't framed well. In almost every car I've had, the mirror and the back window are framed almost the same, so you can get the full window in the mirror frame when looking at it. With the '23, there is alot of space above and below the mirror when you look at it; I keep adjusting the mirror to get the best angle to center the back window yet I keep thinking I could do better, and adjust it again. I'll get used to it; it's only been 2 weeks tomorrow since I picked it up.

Love the tint. I feel it's NECESSARY on the new Prius. Hah.

And I just press the door handle now to lock it. Guess it's fine.

    Thanks for the comment!

Oh. And it's leather. Well...their fake leather. But just gray!

So, before my insight, I had a 06 civic. I feel it is pretty on par with that car with the rakish windshield. I don't have any complaints with blind spots. The pillars are a tad thick, but with mirrors and cameras, I never have an issue parking or changing lanes.

It also turns tightly and has a semi short hood I feel like so pretty agile.

Out the back...again I mainly use the camera. And I swivel my head to look when changing lanes. Hah. That I don't trust blind spot...though seems to be good.
