Correct on the install. The dash speakers are a one-size-fits-all sort of upgrade and are used in several Toyota/Lexus models in Japan. I found the difficult part to be finding the correct amp. Each car model gets a different amp that's tuned(by Yamaha) to the physical space and speakers that are in it. That means I don't think you can buy a used system from a different car(non-gen5 Prius) even though all the parts look like they're physically the same.

The audio system is an $800-ish upgrade from the factory. It was on my initial list of planned upgrades, but the cost, difficulty of finding the correct part numbers, and the possibility it wouldn't be set up correctly for a LHD car made me eventually scrap the plans.

Quick question about the Impex JP order. I just got an email saying that’s am the parts have arrived at their warehouse. Do I pay and create the package myself on the website and wait for them to correct it if necessary (due to weight/size), or do I wait for them to send me an invoice from their end?

you create the package and pay, the amount you pay probably wont cover the full cost. They will send out an additional pay,ent request when they have the exact size and weight after packaging and then it will be g2g

I'm jealous. I placed my order(18 items) about a month ago. Everything is at their "warehouses"(shipping containers lol) except one frigging thing. I'm only refreshing the order page about 20 times a day.

@pendragon What did you end up ordering, if you don't mind me asking?

I have ordered and installed various items-

    (1) Dual Horn for Toyota Land Cruiser- plug and play
    (4) Rubber Mats for Prius (front and rear) Toyota installed as parts (not in port)
    (5) All Weather Cargo Tray Rubber Mats (Hatch and rear seat addition)
    (4) Mudguards (front and rear) Toyota installed as parts (not in port)
    (1) Clear Toyota Bumper Protector- Toyota installed as parts (not in port)
    (1) Steering Wheel Trim Ring in Silver (around the Toyota Logo)
    (1) Steering Wheel Trim in Silver (lower steering wheel)
    (4) Steel Door Sill Panel Protection Guards (with rubber inserts)
    (1) Multimedia glass protector (no fingerprints)
    (2) Toyota Logo Silver Metal License Plate Holders
    (4) Voxx Lumi 17" Aftermarket Wheels

Total appox- $ 900- which is still a total savings from my initial dealer price of $ 3.5k over MSRP; by going with the other dealer, I saved a net total of approx $ 2,600.00!

I am trying a different company for the foam base and the reinforced floor. I opted to go with JP-Carparts.com. Admittedly the process is not as polished as impex, it took them about a week to give me a quote, you submit paypal payment and then they will ship when they get the parts. Shipping is agreed up front. They have the foam in stock but the floor is three weeks out. The total including shipping was 310USD. (impex wanted close to 300USD to ship the foam alone, never made it to see what the floor would cost). The prices appear to be in line with Japanese market like 40USD for the foam and 60USD for the floor, so shipping seemed way more reasonable given the size and this is still like a 50% discount from dealership prices if they were even available. I will take some pictures when they come in. Shipping ETA is Oct 10.

This would mean I have secured everything except that US market bracket, three nuts and tire for the spare hub.

I hope I'm wrong, but I think that metal bracket is going to end up being unobtainium. It's only spec'd for US AWD cars with the spare tire option, but there are no spare tire option cars in the US. I could see Toyota designing the part but never actually producing it. I'm going to keep trying to get it, but I'm mostly resigned to never being able to. I figure if Toyota is comfortable selling cars in Japan without the bracket, I'm comfortable driving one in the US without it.

I think we're both going to be very disappointed in the replacement deck board. I never would have ordered it if I had seen the video of it ahead of time. I really think it's just going to end up being the standard deck board with four of those foam-type blocks glued on.

I give the spare parts about a year to be available locally. I believe the bracket will be on the market but it will take some time. This is always the case with the supply chain. It was the same story in the fall of 2019 when I bought my Supra. It took about a year for parts to be available.

looks good but for others that may do this, it is supposed to be further up not centered. The reason is that it is actually supposed to be functional and protect the door sill from your shoes. ;) your butt isnt going to scuff the door sill. Mine is positioned such that the majority of the risk area for shoes is covered.

Really good in my opinion in total for the entire TRD GR kit. Can't wait to post pictures after install. :)

My order shipped out the same day. We'll see whose order arrives first(hint: it'll be yours lol). I'll be interested to hear if your plate frame fits an American license plate.

man I gave these guys so much business :( so sad they had to try to charge me those crazy shipping prices on the foam and forced me to try a different site. They should give me FREE shipping for a year on all the purchases everyone is making. Japanazon prime that shit.

Be very, very, very thankful you didn't decide to get the other deck board. I should have just cut my losses on that and the foam.

Also, once I got the final package size and weight, I plugged the dimensions into DHL and FedEx. Impex's price was actually in line with the estimates I got from those sites. So it's the real cost to ship things of that size, not just Impex scamming extra money. Doesn't make it easier to swallow.
