My Prius is going to live a pretty hard life with outdoor parking in an urban environment, and southern Ontario winters. I researched a lot of the easy to apply ceramic products and the final choice was between two thatI thought would meet meet my needs. I wanted something easy to apply, easy to maintain and durable. the two that I figured met my prerequisites... we’re turtle wax, ceramic spray and Griots garage, three in one ceramic spray wax. I went with the Griots. I have had my car for three months now and only driven through touchless washes. The dealer washed it once when I went to get an early oil change. To prep the car I washed it with Meguiars car wash. Then I sprayed an iron dissolver on the hood and left it for two minutes. It picked out about 4 pieces of embedded iron ( turns purple) then gave it a rinse. There were some stains and marks on the hood, so I polished those with Meguiars ultimate polish by hand and buffed it with a micro fiber towel. Next spray was a paint cleaner suggested before applying the ceramic spray. The application of the Griots was very easy and quick. Spray a small amount on a panel, smooth it around with a cloth or applicator, then buff out with just a few passes of a clean and dry microfibre towel. Nice shine right off the bat. I let the car sit in a garage overnight then gave it a second application. Car is looking great. Hope it lasts a while. Not sure where I will go over it once it gets cold, maybe an underground parking lot. Impressed with the product so far as it is so easy to use. View attachment 248038 View attachment 248039

Nice shine! I've used Griots; jury's still out on that one with me....I'm currently using Collinite 845 Insulator Wax plus Turtle Wax Hybrid Solutions Pure Shine Mister; it works on glass and plastic too!

Like you, my car sits outside. Good idea with the ceramic coating. I have used Turtle Wax ceramic before with good results. This time though, I went with 303 Graphene Nano Spray Coating. It works great too. The only thing I did was wash it, then clayed it, wash again, and then apply it. The 303 doesn't need a cure time of several hours like the Turtle Wax.

Try to at least park with the head lights facing north, away from the sun. Street parking year round sucks: your car's coated in dew (or frost) every morning, for 6 months outa the year, it get's it's daily UV, then there's vandalism, Cat theft. Also, no chance for any electrical connections, say block heater, battery charging.

    Basically automotive homelessness.
