And how many miles are on the engines and at what mileage are these chassis accepting these generation 4 engines just curious trying to keep a track on whether the Gen 4 engine is actually more robust or what have you than the generation 3 obviously this is a Prius only problem to the Atkinson cycle and the crappy rings. As the 2ZZ in Corollas don't seem as far as I can tell to have these similar problems That's why I figured by now Toyota would have a 2 l or a 2.2 l that's prepped and made for hybrid duty. Not just the Corolla engine with the modified firing cycle Atkinson or Miller cycle No need for any of that kind of nonsense going on at all. You're making the car choke on its own puke all of its life That's disgusting.

I have about 20k on my swap, we did it in April '22. The motor had about 110k on it when I got it. It has been flawless. Did just replace a wonky temp sensor. I also have a Nexcell/Project Lithium battery, I like to think of it as the ultimate Gen 3 setup lol. I am a big advocate for the Gen 4 swap and we could perform the swaps for people in Texas for a very reasonable price.

    Good eye, that's my SW20 project. It's a hybrid too- it's getting a turbo Honda K24 swap.

Oh, and the car is at 223k ish miles. I bough it at about 211k with a knocking motor. It's a IV with a solar roof, which is the option I really wanted.

Do you have a reputable source for G4's down there? Getting a good one with lower mileage is the key.

I'm in North Carolina and I do business all over the southeast United States finding Gen 4 Prius to get an engine out of is pretty tough actually they don't come available a whole lot You're waiting for wrecks. Prius people are not known for having lots of wrecks so now you have to have a Prius that's been smashed into like by someone else or all of this and that so it it's pretty tough there's not a ton of them around and when they do pop up people are trying to get $2,500 for the engine assembly not the transmission any of that other stuff they even trying to take air conditioning compressors off and all of it All you getting is the block in the head and maybe the flex plate on the intake and exhaust of course no converters none of that and you probably can't get any of that even if you wanted it's already gone by the time the car gets to this point in the salvage operation and I know down in Georgia there are a couple of yards down in Conyers Georgia that have miles of Prius but not generation 4 prius w engines. And we Americans pile on the miles like no other country in a few months most of the Gen 4s in this country will have $150,000 miles on them of course I'm kidding but you get my point. We pack them on fast so if you're believing the two z z is fixed with some different oil control rings or whatever it is they've done to those a few shields and sleeves well I guess that's that. And now the new engine in the Prius everybody's talking about how good the new Prius looks only problem is is the engine they put in it oh well just means my generation too is have to last a long long long time because Toyota's marketing today is just that marketing the end product at least a few of them has quite a bit to be desired or I guess they've gone the way of every other manufacturer today even Rolex watches I wouldn't want one built today All of the things I used to buy quality items won't even go into it here have all turned to complete poop I can prove it but it's no point. Most of the quality items I used to buy up until about 11:00 12:13 years ago can't buy today or what I can buy today is junk thank God I bought a lot of the stuff when it was good stuff and I have enough to carry me until well I'm no longer around I'm talking about footwear clothing gear that I need my knives things like that The comparison of the quality of the stuff made today is a joke. But what people don't know there you go.

Hey guys, sorry, don't check here often. I don't have any social media- so not me. I have gotten motors from LKQ, from local junkyards, JDM importers, eBay, all over the place. Haven't had any issues with any of them. Thinking of selling the black solar roof car and keeping a blue 2013 II we swapped. That motor has like 8k miles on it, and I'm 6'4" so the extra room from no sun roof is a plus to me. So now I gotta swap HV batteries (Project Lithium in the black car), headlights (did RX350 bi-xenons, highly highly recommend the mods). I think I'm gonna lift the blue car.

If anyone is near Houston, I'd be happy to do swaps for those interested. It's all side stuff/hobby for me though.

I've found them caved in in every Gen 3 I've come across, but they can be fixed by a little plastic welding after getting the panels off.

Man I have tried doing that I have four panels off now nothing holds even if I use a similar factory plastic welder and just try to redo what's there It just doesn't stick I don't care what I clean anything with or prime any of the plastic wizard any of that it just I don't even understand it But I am not a plastic repair person per se I've got some of the best glues on the planet here so on and so forth I can glue up shoes that Italian companies can't get right etc I have glues here that you can't purchase anymore because of the chemical contents whatever but I haven't been able to get this to work I have a 2010 solar roof car with nice leather door panels and everything and can't make anything happen with them especially somebody's really going to put their arm on the armrest oh no It's headed for caving in immediately That's why I was wondering if in some other country like they do with lots of cars the Corolla in particular in some markets has completely plastic door panels kind of like what's done in a police car in the back where everything is vomit and urine proof and all that is just one big piece of ABS or some kind of plastic anyhow.
