It’s blocked off on mine when not logged in, some can be read, then it’s off to one side, most blocked, and unreadable. Have to login.
“Danny” singled me out, no free soup for me. It’s strange you can bypass the log in. It does keep me logged in no matter what unless I log out. Maybe you are not logging out.
You don’t need to buy anything to be a data point to sell to advertisers. Of course more data points mean more to an advertiser than fewer.

PriusChat ads are not nearly as obtrusive as YouTube ads.

    Odd.

I only log-in when I am going to post. The rest of the time I can read anything when I am most certainly logged out --- except for FHOPolitics. I don't think I have been in that area for months, if not years.

I only log in when I need to post.

I use a browser that just doesn't do ads.

I always check the stay signed in box. “Danny” won’t let me read the posts not logged in. I get tired of logging in. Can see some, then most are blocked off and to the side, unreadable. Not ads, blank areas block off the posts. I logged out to verify, yep blank areas block out the posts. Can’t read them at all. Danny has a reason.
I logout when I am trying to not spend the amount of time on the internet I do. At first, ok there is a reason, then it becomes an addiction. Changing channels on the tv just to watch tv and do nothing else.
When stay logged in is chosen, it stays logged in seemingly forever.

agreed, you stay logged in forever unless you erase cookies, or some other event.

i don't see how logging out helps with internet addiction, if i had something better to do, i'd do it.

i lost interest in television after seinfeld wrapped up. if priuschat is quiet, i move on, but to what?

I did not know Canada has this shopping cart deposit thing.

Have not ventured over since taking the kids on a week's vacay to Shawnagan Lake on the island back in ....what...2001 or so?

They use the same system (with quarters) at Aldi grocery stores in the USA. But I don't think they have any in the PNW so you might not know them.

My browser just remembers my login info and all I do is hit a bookmark and I am there on about 50 sites ... different passwords and all recorded somewhere but the same real me name so I can be reminded to be civil and as factual as someone with my biases can be.

Seen them in use at stores where 'borrowing' a cart might be tempting.

It also creates an incentive for somebody, even if not the initial user, to bring them back for the coin refund. With no such systems currently in my region, we instead see plenty of carts abandoned or tipped over many blocks away from the stores, most heavily concentrated near homeless camps.

I believe I have seen such systems in the U.S., long ago and/or far away. I've seen them more frequently for luggage carts in airports.

    Fancy!

The ones near me have four wheels that randomly lock, shimmy and skip all through the store.
