Hey guys. I was just wondering if anyone has any knowledge on what a shop would charge just for the labor cost just to replace the cat??? I have my own parts
The labor cost to replace the cat here in Orange county North Carolina about 2 years ago I had a car with no catalytic converter. I bought a catalytic converter on Amazon I don't have anything to worry about as my county doesn't have emissions testing. I put the car on ramps I drove the car a few times with no converter on ramps I bolted in the new converter the spring bolts and all of that took like a whopping 30 minutes and then I drove it down to the exhaust shop with the catalytic converter all mounted and strapped up like it's supposed to be and the cat back exhaust was just hanging there on its mounts I took it to the muffler shop He stuck it together put a seam around it with the MIG welder and I think I paid in $55 I wasn't there 25 minutes If he would have had the bolt the exhaust in I'm sure they would have tried to get me for 200 bucks so I went ahead and threw the piece in It just and I can say it took me maybe 30 minutes it's just running up two screws with springs on them.
