Checking motor mount before replacing...

Usually you can get a long bar like an iron digging bar and you can get that wedged in somewhere and rock the engine around and if you can make it clunk or clank then it's a good bet that the one of them is got shot rubber if you have an oil leak that's running down and anything like that that's soaked one of the mounts that can damage the rubber generally it's been my finding so far that it's quite rare so check carefully or you'll just be replacing mount or mounts for the heck of it they get soft over time but unless they're getting something on them a lot to deteriorates the rubber they generally hold up to the 250,300,000 plus mile mark.
