Hi I’m installing the brake pads shim and I tried for hours and try to look it up how to put this back. The other side brake pad shim got on smooth but this one I try every ways and it doesn’t fit. I know the silver shim on top of the black shim.

Yes one goes on top of the other Do you see the little cutouts on the brake pad we're talking about the shim that goes on the back of the metal part of the brake pad opposite of the friction material not the pieces that go in the hub on the top and bottom that hold the tabs into the hub or brake pad holder. If you have a minute and you can run over to advance Auto they will pull the box down for you from the same car and the same number and you can see the shim sitting on the pad and while you have your pad in the two shims in your hand you can arrange the two shims like they are on the pad you're looking at but not touching and then set them down on the pad backing plate that you own and you're carrying with you and that's how they go sometimes you need to bend the two little tabs and the single tab at the leading edge of the curve on the upper shim that will help hold them on while you install the pad in the holder assembly on the car or as an alternative you could use brake spray the anti squeal spray or if you have any copper spray a gasket in your garage spray that on the pad set the right shim that goes against the backing plate first against your new backing plate on your new pad that will glue that will stick now spray some more copper spray on the piece you just put on the pad and now put the other shim on put your thumb on it let it sit a minute and it'll stick while you're holding it you can see the three tabs you need to bend towards the backing plate of the new pad and that will help them stay in place there's indentions on the backing plate where these little tabs usually grab onto and then you're done you can put that on the floor of your car and drive back to the car you're working on and that's all glued up now set it in the holder make sure the caliper is squeezed slide the caliper up and pretty much done.

Yes I imagine they'll be a thousand and one YouTube videos showing the pads of this style The pads in the Prius fit several other Toyota cars too and their shims lay on the pads the same way I just bought pads for my Corolla they're almost the exact same shape as the Prius with the same shims and everything.

I usually take pics before taking them off. That aside, dry fitting them (not applying any sort of anti seize) you can usually figure it out. The pad back will have indents fit shim clips. When there’s two shims, likely the larger of the two goes on first.

Once that’s sorted, I’ll butter up the full inner surface of first to go on, with Permatex anti-seize, install, repeat with second shim.

Toyota often indicates to only put dabs of anti-seize in particular parts, but I’m used to a uniform coating, and it’s worked fine.
