When I try to paste a screen-grab (on iPhone with Safari) it appears briefly then vanishes. You must have pull… :cautious:

It works from websites but not when I copy images saved by IOS locally. Even links are copied properly. The websites copies are coming with html code.

Toyota Prius News, Reviews and Pricing
Read the latest news about the all models of Toyota Prius hybrid car. It can be hard to believe, but the Toyota Prius has over 19 years in the U.S. market today. What started out with an odd looking compact sedan, has evolved into a story of success like no other. Toyota Prius first became popular in Japan back in 1997 before the launch in the U.S. in 2000. Prius quickly became a crowd favorite especially after the launch of the second generation in 2004. Now Prius is selling well all over the world because the word is out about, reliability, fuel economy, and class leading technology that sets them apart as a leader in industry.

Bare url in a post again:

    https://priuschat.com/wiki/blink-a-k-a-flash-codes-how-to/

Weird: a bare URL to an external page does get replaced by its page title, as expected before the migration:

The Ford Pinto - The American Museum of Tort Law

But a bare URL to a page on PriusChat does not get replaced by its title (as used to happen before the migration).

It's almost as if the server is unable to contact itself, to see the title of a referenced local page, or to cache a referenced local image.

I think that's exactly what it was. I should have it resolved, at least for now. I went into the database and prompted all of the proxy images from the attachments.priuschat url to be recreated, so let me know if you see any additional issues with those.

Still not sure why Attachments are working for some and not for others (like me), but it works without a problem on my test updated site.

That does seem to have fixed the problem with the URL expansion and with some of the cached versions of locally-hosted images. For example, the ones in posts I mentioned in this thread are all better now.

But the one in this post isn't, for some reason: https://priuschat.com/posts/3412149

That's another image hosted locally as a PriusChat attachment, so I don't get why the cache recreation didn't work for that one.

    Huh, wait, here's another: https://priuschat.com/posts/3410396

Then of course there are all the posts like this one, where the original source was outside PriusChat, and the cached copy can't be recreated because the original is gone. The only fix for those would be to recover those cached images from the backup of the old server. (Or, as tochatihu suggested, looking for them on the Wayback Machine, but I'm pretty sure having them all locally at hand on a backup would be the less-complicated way.)

That, of course, is going to be the only way to save all the posts that had images from parts.toyota from before Big T went and wrecked that site.

I haven't heard anyone say attachments are working for them. AFAIK those that are using attachments are uploading them elsewhere and linking here. That's my work-around at least.

Hmm. yeah, not working for me either:

    Code:
    POST https://priuschat.com/attachments/do-upload.json?hash=97cd47e415a6ab2426265f55d73a08da&content_type=post
    [HTTP/3 404 Not Found 472ms]

    Code:
    AttachmentUploadError: Object { type: "AttachmentUploadError", file: {…}, errorCode: 0, message: "<html>\n<head><title>404 Not Found</title></head>\n<body>\n<center><h1>404 Not Found</h1></center>\n<hr><center>nginx</center>\n</body>\n</html>\n", ajaxData: {…}, flow: {…}, timeStamp: 1702489008465, jQuery1110003771425056162814: true, isTrigger: 3, namespace: "", … }

    Now trying a nutty idea:

Hey, that actually worked! If I turn JavaScript off, then the "upload a file" button just goes to a basic HTML-only upload page, which works (it posts to plain attachments/do-upload, not attachments/do-upload.json). It doesn't give me an easy way to place the uploaded image in my post (the resulting page shows only the uploaded files), but I can copy the link that's shown for the file I just uploaded, and then go use that in my post.

Good news here! Priuschat suddenly came alive on Safari 13.1.2. Safari likes that certificate from GlobalSign Root CA. Hallelujah!

Thank you for that troubleshooting, @ChapmanF. I'll pass that on to the folks helping me on this and see if we can come up with a solution.

Glad to hear it! I reduced the TLS level to 1.2 vs 1.3, which was causing the issues with the image proxy and access to the site for those with older versions of OSs and browsers.

Thanks, @Danny. The last two times I tried uploading, it would not accept the upload. I'll try again next time I get a chance.

The image caching didn't get re-whatevered for this wiki page (maybe other, or all, wiki pages? I haven't checked.)

Blink (a/k/a Flash) Codes – How to. | PriusChat

Now that it seems possible to make a post with an image, I'll go see if editing and re-saving that wiki page makes something happen.

    [time passes]

crazy... I could edit the wiki page. In the edit window, the original URLs in attachments.priuschat are shown (not the proxy.php versions). I can paste those original URLs into my browser's address bar and see the images. But saving the page (even after adding a sentence to make sure the edit isn't ignored) still leaves the proxy.php versions as red X.

I can go back to the edit window, paste the original image URLs into my browser, save the images, re-upload the same unchanged images, add [IMG] tags for those into the wiki page right after the original broken ones, and those show up just fine.

I left the original ones in place, so there's now a red X and a working image in each place.

In other news, it doesn't seem like any wiki page (of the few I've looked at just now) has a working History link.

HTML works fine. So we are back to 1999.

@Danny The forum seems to not allow me to upload photos on the accessories and modifications page. I have tried different pictures high and lower megapixel rates and still giving me an error. The picture isn't the problem, as I've tried different ones, reformated them so that they are within the limits, etc.

The response code "404 Not Found" shown in #70 suggests you're absolutely right it's nothing to do with the picture; it's just that a necessary file isn't found on the server at its expected place.
