Yeah, I don't mind subbing a used part for a broken used part since I'll sell these cars. I don't think that's ripping anyone off. Especially when old parts are hard to find. But if it ain't broke, no sense to it. I do like to have known-good spares on hand.

Crazy that the best, most expensive, and most reliable part on these cars - the engine/transaxle - are worthless. This is the car I just bought - virtually worthless even though I can get in it and drive across the country right now.

Oh, I like that color, Ron. My ‘02 is plain vanilla silver, but I love her dearly. That’s why I’m about to be spending WAY too much $$ on the repair!

If you know anyone who wants to buy a nice Gen1, at retail+ TBH, for cherry cars, I have several. Sell yours and start all over with a low-miles cherry!

I googled the acronym, consensus was Nitrous Oxide System. Gotta be something else...

Yeah, IDK. I assumed "not otherwise" but couldn't get the last word.

Maybe "non-oriental seller"? No Chinese clones.

I see Trombone is from Planet Earth. Maybe that's how they spell NEW where he's at.

Good heavens, does no one remember "new old stock"?

Those were some of the most exciting listings to find, back when my sweetie was driving a 1965 Galaxie.

That’s it, new old stock. A rather common acronym in the collector community. Apologies for the vagueness.

The red must have been a repaint job. The Classic wasn’t offered in red from the factory, to the best of my knowledge. I still have the Toyota promotional brochure from the early years of Prius, showing the available colors, and no red there. It would have been an attractive option, though.

OK, I stopped being clever. Now my location is posted for all the world to see. Anybody on the board live near me?

I'm still waiting to see whether anyone can speak to suitable ignition coils. My '03 (200+K) is likely on the originals, though I don't know for sure. Not having any problems now, but these things don't last forever.

Lots of cars are very finicky, and I think that the OEMs were DENSO? I might want to know one day.

On the subject of getting all vs. 1 by 1 replacement, I also have an '06 SAAB that had a bad #2. Each OEM coil was a bit over $100, but I could get a set of 4 for under $400 - so it was sort of like buy 3 get one free if you did all four. So I did. I'd likely do the same on the Prius if it comes to that.

Yeah, I figured as much as well, but it looked good. Professionally done.

Just joking about NOS. I knew it meant something like that. And Allentown isn't so bad. Far enough away from the big cities, IIRC.

For what it's worth, the box of coils I found in this parts car were Duralast, well, I should say the ones he put in were, probably OEMs he discarded in the box. They were apparently working fine - you can see that his car was moving when something smashed into the side, lol.

My quick FB page to sell cars and parts, but I don't really promote/boost it, so few visitors. JinWan Motors

Well, it's far enough away from Texas!

No offense. Matter of fact, my maternal grandmother was from Texas, and darn proud of it. But you gotta understand that Eagles fans are not fond of Cowboys!

LOL, I see. Quit the NFL a few years ago. But for years I was an Oilers fan and we didn't like them much either.
