I have been searching for hours, I can not seem too get a good idea of where to find new OEM cells. I did see people using gen 4 cells from a part #G9510-47130 battery pack but that's rolling the dice. I found a couple on eBay in the 2500 dollar range. I need to order some form of new battery cells ASAP as I need the car to go to work. Before you ask I did scan it with TECHSTREAM and got both P0A80 "Replace hybrid battery pack" as well as P3014 "Battery block 4 becomes weak" and the battery is so far gone that when I accelerate from 0-30 it goes to 1 bar then when I stop from 30 it recharges, it is also fluctuating full to 1 bar and back a lot just cruising, got the triangle of death, cleared both errors but there is no way it is going to last any longer.

Please help me find something that will last more than a couple years

hybrid2go offers free install and 4 year warranty on a rebuilt pack
Greentecauto offers free install and 3 year warranty on rebuilt pack

Or Toyota dealers sell brand new packs in the $2200 range that you a friend or family member could install in 2-3 hours if you have basic mechanic skills and watch YouTube videos.

Or Project Lithium, near you in LaVerne, CA. might be able to help you with one of their brand new packs, but their currently out of stock till february. Though if you live nearby maybe you could stop by and charm your way into seeing if they can make an exception and put together a spare for you.

Hybrid2go is selling brand new Gen4 packs? with lifetime warranties? Never heard of that?

Or are you referring to someone else? Who are "these guys."

Yes and yes, supposedly they buy them brand new from Toyota and install them. I made the stipulations that they crack the case before they install them so I can see how the modules are branded/arranged so I know that I am getting new OEM cells. To be honest I only care that they are OEM and NEW for the price that I am getting. They have 100% yelp feedback with over 800 all positive comments too. I will post back about the experience, it looks promising but we shall see.

This is what the top of a Gen 2 battery built using Gen 4 modules should look like. If the top of the modules don't look like these, they're not Gen 4s. Pay particular attention to the orientation of the vertical tabs that stick up and how smooth the top of the module is. Take a photo (and serial numbers) and post it if you want any additional info.

New Gen 2 HV batteries come from Toyota without the electronics portion of the battery and require those components to be transferred from the original. Are they bringing you a fully assembled battery or are they taking the pieces off your original battery to finish assembling the new replacement battery?

I am glad you brought this up, I was told that they buy the new unit then install their own brand new board in it so it comes with everything even the blower motor assembly so all they do once here is swap the entire unit at once. I will be taking pictures of the install and sharing them here. Thanks again for the info, kind of thinking the gen 4 claim is bogus and I am just getting OEM gen 2 cells but only time will tell, either way having new OEM will make this car last another 16 years battery wise so I won't grumble too much if that is what I get.

Not my first rodeo but thanks for the advice. I have a side by side comparison picture of 2nd and 4th gen cells so I can tell the difference. I read hundreds of positive yelp reviews with pictures from real users who praised this company for honoring their warranty and a great product. I will be diligent, they are going to open the case before install tomorrow so I can check the serial numbers. The only thing I am 50-50 on is if they will be gen 2 or gen 4, if so bonus, if not I am ok with brand new OEM cells. I don't have to pay until I check the goods out and actually pretty sure I pay after they install it and everything works, I have techstream on a tablet ready to go.

Reputable Hybrid shops only install brand new OEM or Project Lithium packs... Way more expensive.

Hybrid2Go are the new kids on the block and they're spending a fortune on Google advertising, are based in San Luis Obispo, CA. and are determined to have a better offer than their main competitors in Green Bean and Greentecauto.

As per OP's posting I went back and cheked their website for the first time this month, and while they aren't selling brand new Gen4 up here in Washington state, they just changed to lifetime warranty with free installs/pack swaps and 72 hour response time for $1699 and they have a $200 off coupon that expires the same day you look at the website to encourage impulse buyers.

They're gonna be losing lots of money to win their competitors marketshare and I'm excited for them and recommending them from now on as the best choice for rebuilt packs.

Yea... that's why I made sure to post their map. Don't want to get anyone's hopes up if they aren't in their coverage area. Hopefully they'll expand their efforts? Setting up a fleet of mobile installers ain't easy.

All in all it is 2700 out the door installed tomorrow with a lifetime warranty, I will let you all know how it turns out after install tomorrow I am goin g to drive it 50-60 miles as soon as they are done. I was surprised by their outstanding yelp reviews, with pictures I might add. I am excited to see what they bring me tomorrow!

Holy moley. Is that what it costs now-a-days?

The last two "brand new from Toyota" Gen 2 batteries I saw/installed were manufactured with Gen 4 modules, straight from Toyota. So, if they're installing a newly purchased (from Toyota) HV battery, I suspect it would also would have been built using the Gen 4 modules.

If it's new from Toyo and has the Gen2/Gen3 style top on the modules, I would have suspicions about it being a new pack.

The serial numbers will tell the truth.

Their refurbs are like 1600, I budgeted 2300 for the Nexcell lithium cells but they are sold out until February and my battery died yesterday and I needed a quick turnaround. It is a little steep but how much does peace of mind cost these days, super down with it.

If you haven't contacted Jack yet, you might want to talk to him before you settle for a refurb. .....

When looking for reliability and longevity, you can never go wrong with a new OEM battery pack installed by a competent tech..

When you're in the situation of "how much would you pay for a glass of water if your head was on fire" it makes the choice even easier!

Those batteries cost 2200.00 plus tax and a 400 core charge for an "unmolested complete battery pack" means that if I put the new batteries into my cage they can tell me sorry were keeping your core you sent us AND not giving you the money back BUT even if I get the core back it ties up 400 bucks of mine for a week or two and I have to wait longer and do the work myself. For 100 more I can get gen 4 cells in a brand new case with brand new everything (bus bars, circuit board, wires, fan motor, fan housing and case) installed tomorrow afternoon in front of my house and drive into the sunset with my lifetime warranty.

That was one of the first videos I checked out. My last OEM batteries went just over 200k miles over 16 years, I want new OEM again please.
