Hey there everyone, I was wondering if it's possible to utilize an empty fuse slot in order to power a lightbar (within the rated amp ofc). Is it as simple as plug and play? Is it safe to utilize an empty fuse slot (interfering with other electronics)? Thanks!

Would the pdf in post 2 help?
Looking for 2023 Prius Prime Fuse Box Diagram | PriusChat

I don't see much that could be use to add a circuit but keep the thread posted please, I am also interested in this!

Not OP but I wanted to say thanks for the link as I discovered my library had a free Chilton access and it has some interesting stuff for the Gen 5. I can't seem to find anything for the fuse box or distribution box with empty slots. Any idea of alternative names? I'm also interested in this project.

The PDF from the other thread seems a bit more comprehensive but it might not be taken from the same source

Make sure you're looking in the Electrical Wiring Diagram. That's the EWD tab if you're signed in to TIS; I don't know if things look different the way Chilton arranges it.

The wiring diagrams have sections on Location and Routing, and also Relay Locations. Relay Locations sections also show the fuses (they're in the same boxes, after all) and will have "Inner Circuit" pages that show what all the interconnections are inside the boxes, and the connector and pin numbers where the circuits come out.

I am not sure why this guy disconnected his stock third brake light to add this instead of just using both but hey. My understanding on priusdriver223 was for the front as that's where the fuse box is. In the back it'd be easier to add it to the battery next to the mini fuse box for the charger. I might be wrong. I do think the car could use some more light for night driving though so front would make sense.

    Any updates priusdriver223?

I think what I have access to for diagrams is nowhere close to TIS so I haven't found much. Looking at the manual there might be some heated rear seat fuse that should be empty on my trim but not sure if that's of any use.

I did find this guy's video and thread who added fog lights to his Rav4 Hybrid which should be somewhat similar:

There's also this video where the guy has a pretty clean install except that it's straight to the battery:

No updates yet since my car is in the body shop, got into a collision due to a truck stopping in middle of the highway at 5am with no lights. Getting it sorted out and then I'm gonna be back on this project.

I too will be installing a setup for a lightbar once I get things squared away with my trailer light situation.

I did a clean setup in my 22 RAV4 using an additional fuse block that I installed. All main power for light was ran direct from battery and with the Gen5's there is enough plastic body panels under them to run a nice heavy gauge wire from battery to engine compartment to an accessory light bar.

With my trailer light setup, I'd use the parking lights as the trigger wire for additional/supplemental lighting. Can't post photos here but I have the wire isolated at the rear of the vehicle on the harness. I tend to relay everything to protect my vehicles wiring harness.
