    Hello peeps,

Am from the UK and purchased a gen 3 from japan. It came with a older aftermarket headunit and i am thinking to replace it with a newer version. I know i need to buy a double din head unit but what is the maximum screen size i can fit in there. On amazon i can see headunit 7inch and so on. My current one i believe is around 4.5inch but i would like to buy a bigger size.

I also found a aftermarket unit on amazon for £250 but i also sae a branded like pioneer for that amount. The aftermarket has more features. What one would you recommand to purchase. Thanks in advance

    Many thanks

If you have a generation 3 then you must have about a I don't know what that thing is in my generation 3 5 or 6-in kind of screen? It should have GPS possibly and other things related to the car pop up in that display? So it's tied to the car when you put a Clarion or a pioneer in there depending upon the model you may not have everything you had on the original screen now on that same screen there is that you have to read all the footnotes that go with the aftermarket stereo that you're interested in for any changes that are going to take place that the manufacturer of that unit knows of they made this pretty silly now and you've got a Japan or JDM spec car and most of us are in the States and then the JDM market generation 3 might include 2009 because of the difference in production and so on and so forth so but you are talking about a generation 3 which in the United States is 2010 to 2015 or so how's the two ZZ Atkinson cycle engine in it.

To fit a head unit in your car look on eBay you'll see all the Chinese stuff that's made to fit the generation 3 Read the notations carefully generally they will tell you what may or may not work after you install the stereo you're staring at in the picture if that's unacceptable to you then you'll do something else like buy an original online I would think in the UK and the JDM market You should be able to get most of the stereos that went in that car originally without too much problem and for fairly reasonable as these cars are falling by the wayside very quickly nowadays so the breaker yard should have plenty of parts most of the plugs will be in the car already to run most of the stereos that you can buy that went in this car unless you have a very early 2010 and there are some specific strange things about it that's possible because you're in the different market than we're in in the States so good luck with that If you want to fit a big screen thing like a Tesla has you'll probably need to get it to a stereo shop and see what they can actually come up with I think in the States Alpine may have had a setup that could possibly work You see where the radio sits right above and with all the controls there in the middle of the dash so custom plastics would have to be made by whoever to make things work I've seen this done in the earlier generation two models generally not very successfully or they get a real nice stereo and they lose whatever. Like to me the steering wheel controls don't matter I would rather have my Emerson fittipaldi E3 wheel then buttons to turn the stereo up and down to be honest about it but that's personal.
