    Hi everyone,
I've tried searching for the issue I'm having before posting, but I'm not seeing the same problem reported elsewhere.
I have a 2006 Prius in the USA, it has the black Toyota logo on the fob, so it sounds like no SKS/RFID chip. We have 2 fobs that both worked but the buttons were very worn and the fobs are held together by tape so we bought replacement cases. I carefully transferred all of the contents of one old fob to the new case. There was nothing left in the old fob that wasn't just the plastic shell. This new fob still locks/unlocks the doors, but won't start when inserted into the dash and also won't program to start. I also made sure to install a new battery in the new fob, but is still only works the doors.
The old fob still works, so I'm not making any changes to that one. According to the programming sequence test, it seems there are currently 3 codes/fobs assigned to the vehicle. Since the old fob works, I'm guessing it's not the 12v battery, which is fairly new, since the old fob still works fine on the doors & ignition.
Any idea why this fob transfer would result is a fob that only works on the doors and not the ignition?
    Thanks very much!

You are half correct, the black-logo fob does not have SKS but it does have an RFID chip. See the images below.
It would seem you have not moved the RFID chip across to the new fob case.

I thought so because every one of these I've changed seems to have an RFID chip I guess that's what the slot recognizes and allows the car to start or something like that because everyone of these Gen twos that I get my wind up re-casing the fobs they're all worn out buttons and plastics but as long as the board and internals look good and the light lights up I have a drawer full of brand new cases for five of them might keep here because that's the first thing I do when I get another car is re-case the remotes make sure they're working and the physical key goes to the car that's all checked the time of purchase whatever the case may be junk car rolling chassis or one ready to go on the road I try to make sure the key in case is good . Transfer over the gray sticker under the logo to the new remote All of that.

Awesome, thanks very much for the responses! I had no idea there was something else in the old case.
