Da game. No points scored in first quarter. Three on the board early 2nd. Envying your easy access, and hoping for SF win.

We could talk about best party snacks - distraction media have been all over that.

Haven't had the TV on today. Is this about yet another CTE-ball event?

While grocery shopping last night, I saw an advertisement heralding "Big Game Supplies", but the included pictures were just of party snacks. Not a single piece of hunting or outdoor equipment.

Noted, but imagine all the million$$ spent on this meh. First half goes 10-3 to San Fran. Next, new (buying) eyes arrive for half-time show.

Then, 2nd half might have KC digging out from hole. DANG! 2nd half ad buyers have done really well.

Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy (CTE) may be particularly associated with American football:

How CTE fears exceeded what science actually knows - ESPN
Largest study of brains of athletes younger than 30 finds early signs of CTE even in amateur players | CNN

But I suppose that all sports requiring proponents to throw themselves at opponents are CTE-ish. It may be that American football does this more than most other sports.

    Sports.

The big game continues though, with no change yet to 10-3 earlier score. Go SF! If you can win without CTE ing any opponent, that would be good.

KC found a hole and now lead 13-10.

Took a nap and woke up at half-time. Usher's program started and well ... there was interesting news on Youtube.

Apparently the Russians are buying Starlink base stations and paying for accounts which Elon is unaware. This suggests:
    • Starlink service in Ukraine and Russian occupied Ukraine - what I thought was the case.
    • Starlink service over Russia proper - a great way to guide long range attacks like we are seeing.
    • Russian accounts - gives them information to conduct attacks on Ukraine.
I have long wondered if the Starlink network can provide GPS-like, location to ground stations. Unlike the military communications satellite systems, Starlink is approaching two orders of magnitude more satellites which makes them all but immune to 'shoot down.'

    For example:

That sure looks like a starlink terminal housing on the drone boat.

Game tied with 5:45 clock remaining. Imagine telling ad-buy bosses to pay more for late game placement. You'd be frickin golden

Bob and Starlink, I cannot see a reason for downlink sites to announce their lat lon exactly. Birds above are sending down signals without much geospatial detail.

Now SF leads 19-16 inside 2 minutes. A juicy OT ad payoff may have been averted.

After other programming ended, wifey did turn to the CTE-ball game, when it was tied at 16 with ~4 minutes to go. So unlike most years, I am seeing a part of it.

    +1

Remember the second law of warfare:
    'The enemy gets a vote.'
Most people just use jamming when confronted by satellites.
It's 'easier' and it eliminates the political complexities of shooting down billions of dollars of your enemies' national infrastructure.
Shooting down satellites is a for-real act of war, and even Grampotus would be forced into a proportional response.
You poke me in the eyeball in a 'friendly fight' and things might get nasty.

Shooting down a half-billion dollar drone the size of a 737 should be to, but that's another discussion - for another thread.
The Rookies are better at some things than we are, but anti-satellite missions aren't one of them. (I'm told.)
The Ukies probably use GLONASS and Galileo in addition to GPS for navigation for all of the obvious reasons.
That would obviate any countermeasures except for local jamming - which works both ways.
The L1/L2 freqs are well known - obviously as are Elon's satellite signals.
Once upon a long time ago, our GPS was designed to be downgraded globally when we were doing "stuff and things" but this is no longer possible - besides: Math (Differential GPS)

The Starlink (and *COUGH!!* "other" systems) would be best used for terminal guidance.
That's the way the boys and girls do it at Creech.
Absenting "other inputs' you would need area jamming instead of local jamming to eliminate the usefulness of Elon-net - and the Russies are into high quality, high speed interwebbing too.

At least it wasn't a blowout, and only one head coach suffered minor injuries.
