I saw this review on youtube which introduced a soon to be released in 2024 Pirelli Cinturato All Season 3 SF3 tire. Site lists 215/50R19 as on of the sizes offered which based on a little google research will fit the stock 19" wheels. Figured it might be nice to have a place to track tires people have either installed on their stock 19" rims or that they know will fit on them as a reference for those looking to replace the stock tires.

I'm not a fan of low profile tires so I'll be swtching to 17's or 16's

Anyone in Colorado interested in another set of 19's for winter tires?

What is the Pirelli recommended wheel rim width for that 215 tire?

Don't see it on the product page. Where do you normally find it?

If I am recalling correctly in North America there are 3 currently available tires that will fit the stock 19" wheels and are available in the 195/50R19 size.

    1. Michelin Primacy A/S
    2. Toyo extensa A/S II A
    3. Michelin X-Ice Snow

In addition I have come across 2 tires that may fit and come in size 215/50R19.

    1. 93T Silent Drive Nokian Tyres Hakkapeliitta 10 EV Studded Winter Tire
    2. Pirelli Cinturato All Season SF 3 (not available yet). Still trying to figure out if it will be available here.

I just need to point out that those are European tires he's reviewing and that many(most) will not be available in North America. Even the Michelin CrossClimate2 he tested isn't the same tire we get in North America(he refers to the CC2 being different at 13:04).

I like the performance of the Pirelli, but its wear life is worrisome to me. According to his testing, you can only expect around 20k miles. Even if that number ends up being conservative, I don't like the idea of a 25k-30k tire. The North American CrossClimate 2 is rated for 60k miles for comparison.

Nokian has released their new WRG5 all-weather(CrossClimate 2 competitor), but no good sizes for the 19". They do have a 17" that will work for LE/SE crowd(215/55R17).

According to Pirelli, they do offer the Cinturato Winter 2 in 215/50R19 for the US market. It's on the edge of acceptable(+3%), but it should work if someone is looking for an alternative to the X-Ice Snow next winter. Also, Nokian has three winter tires in the same 215/50R19 size: Hakkapeliitta R3(discontinued), Hakkapeliitta R5 EV(Nordic non-studded), and Hakkapeliitta 10(Nordic studded), but you're going to pay through the nose for them if you can even get them(special order on the R5 & 10 and expect $350-$400 per tire).

Still nothing from Bridgestone(includes Blizzak), Continental, Goodyear, Hankook.

Normally the Maufacturer has compatable wheel width for their tires. sometimes its a wodth range, and sometimes one width is recommended and then a range is also given.

I emailed them to ask about 3 of their tires that all come in size 215/50R19. I will post when I hear back.

Similarly Nokian Hakkapeliitta 10 EV winter tires on their site lists approved rim width for the same size tire of 215/50R19 to be 6-7.5 inches.

In a half day of searching one interesting thing I found is an ebay supplier from Italy CAMBIORUOTE pneumatici e cerchi that says they offer free shipping to USA and Canada. Tires appear to be quite a bit more than prices in Europe but shipping is free. They have the previous version of the Pirelli All Seasons SF2 215/50R19 for $330 per tire, Bridgestone Blizzak LM -005.XL in size 205/50R19 for $425/tire, CrossClimate2 most likely the european version but in size 215/50R19 for $299/tire.

    ~$300/tire

Available on eBay from CAMBIORUOTE pneumatici e cerchi. Ships from Italy. Found a handful of positive reviews from people buying tires from them in US but personally never imported tires before.

Toyota Finland stopped supplying 215/50R19 winter tyres - they decided they were too big, causing clearance problems. 215/55R17 is what they still supply.
