Hybrid battery update

    Hey all so its been about 6 months since I last did an update. So I saw a video where a guy made a metal rail and held some modules on it and used a car's 12v battery to balance the modules. So I tried that and surprisingly it really did seem to work. Most of my modules were around 6.5-6.6 v before testing. After testing, majority jumped up on average a volt, so now they're around 7.5-7.6v (I have 2 reading just above 7.7 v). Now hopefully I can get them all back in the car again to see if they'll actually work properly.

    However, based on what I've been reading, I have no idea on how long the recharging will allow the current modules to last. I do plan to set aside around $100 per paycheck towards getting myself either replacement set from Toyota or the new Lithium version. Also since sodium ion batteries are becoming more widely known, does anyone know if that technology is possible in a hybrid car or is it more for the EV market?

    You sure like to go down a lot of rabbit holes. Just because there are Youtube videos online does not mean they are the correct way to do or fix something. Why would you use a 12v battery to balance the modules? In another one of your threads, you said that you purchased a CQ3 battery charger. Use that charger to charge all the modules to the same voltage.

    Stay away from the Project Lithium battery sold by Nexpower. There are problems with using the V2.5 design in a Prius, especially if you live where it gets cold.

    If you want a new battery, only buy Toyota OEM..

    PS: This is now the fifth thread that you created for the problem with your hybrid vehicle battery. Why do you keep creating new threads when it would be much easier to keep everything in one thread?
