Guys. I have the replace my engines radiator( not the inverter radiator). I was thinking on replacing the inverter pump at the same time I did this. Would the inverter pump be easily accessible by having the radiator and radiator fan removed from the car? Thoughts?

    TIA

The inverter radiator and engine radiator share different sections of the same radiator. So you're going to have easy access to work on both systems. But the inverter pump issue was only a problem with Gen2 Prius. No need to worry about pre-emptively replacing an inverter pump in a 2015.

On mine, both the engine and inverter coolant looked almost new at 115K miles. I ended up replacing the engine coolant when I did the EGR. It was just a tad darker than the inverter coolant. Nothing like the horror show from my GM pickup. It makes me wonder if I could get away with putting the Toyota coolant in my GM.

I'd be more prone to replacing the engine coolant pump while you have the radiator out.

I don't know what's up with why your car needs a new radiator - how many miles, is it clogged with stop leak ...?

I'd also want to make sure the system doesn't have any aftermarket coolant mucking with things. Maybe you want to replace the engine coolant pump instead?

My 2010 Prius reports a P0A93 and a P0C73, both telling me that the pump is bad. Also, there is no turbulence in the inverter pump tank. Replacing the pump was a nightmare for me, but I am 80. It helps to have a lift. I had to lay on the ground. And, it is almost imperative to have a helper. There is a mounting bracket that has the nuts and is only accessabile from under the hood. You must install the bolts from under the car. You need someone to hold the bracket while you install the bolts. You must remove the inverter and the under-car cover. The bracket has a strange arm and a hole that is perhaps for a special tool. See image IMG_2733.JPG

I still get codes P0A93 and P0C73 after replacing the pump. It may have worked initially because after filling the reservoir to max and briefly running the engine, the level went way down. Now I get the codes and I cannot see turbulence in the tank. I also cannot hear or feel the pump running in "Ready" mode. I noticed that there are 2 part numbers for my car. (2010 Base) I bought the replacement pump for G9040-47090. Can anyone tell me which pins on the pump are for +12 volts and ground? I will check for power to the pump motor. I checked all the fuses in the under-hood fure box.
