What tire would be good for a 2017 prime in Phoenix AZ (where today's high, in mid-April is 91F)?
Road noise is a big concern for me.
BTW, I only got 22,000K on my original Toyo tires. (yes, i am a low mileage driver, my other car is a bicycle)

If the car regularly is used for freeway trips, consider a higher speed rating. That should mean the rubber holds up to heat better.

Europe has more graduated rating of tire properties for consumers. I think road noise is one they include.

I average 85k-100k miles on my Michelin tires on my hybrids since 2008. Defenders and Primacy AS lately.

They are so good I replace OEM tires when new unless they are Michelin. Generally sell the OEM for half the Michelin costs.

I buy tires at Costco and wait for their every other month sale on Michelins. Plus get their free rotations and balances which save money and extend the tire life.

Driving habits help as well. No routine hard braking by anticipating stops and no tire scrubbing by moving the steering at a stop. The braking technique has saved money on brakes as well, original front pads, rear parking drums and all four rotors at 305,000 miles. Rear pads. changed at 250k since we were in there for one rear hub bearing making noise.

Living in a colder clime, I stick with "All Weather Tires" (not All Season) and always check for a good rolling resistance rating (LRR). This typically limits me to tires that last 50k to 60k miles at best.

Both sets of factory installed tires on my 2013 Prius C and 2020 Prius prime lasted a little over 40,000 miles due to a nail puncture. The 2nd set of tires on my Prius c were Bridgestone Ecopias from Costco and they lasted over 70,000 miles. Just make sure to get the ones with the 70,000 mile warranty. There are several of the ecopias out there and some have very short warranties. The 2nd set for the Prius prime were Michelin x-tours (Defenders if you aren’t getting them at a warehouse club). They are still going strong even though I swear I drove over a piece of wood with nails sticking up like a porky pine. You may notice a drop in fuel economy by as much as 10%, but you should gain half of it back after 30,000 miles. They have an 80,000 mile warranty.

I just found this forum and am happy that I did. I wanted to post here what our current experience has been so far and I will give this thread a thorough read after this post to help me plan our tire replacement.

My wife has a '20 Prius. We live in NC and the car is nearing 70k miles (mostly highway). We change the oil every 5k miles and rotate the tires every other oil change. We still have the stock TOYO NANOENERGY A41 tires and they have been good so far (I'm surprised to see the 300 B B tread/traction/temp rating just now... but maybe not since she drives a lot on the highway and avoids inclement weather). Current tread measures are at 4/32" all around (New - 9/32"; Wear bars - 2/32"). My wife has not reported that she notices any differences in handling but I am planning to replace them before winter.

Looks like we are having similar experiences...
