Hello, everyone. I just joined and am so happy this group exists! I have some questions that I was hoping someone could point me in the right direction for.

    1. How do I pause my media such as podcasts or music from the steering wheel controls? It only has a volume up/down button and a mode button which switches media type.

    2. what is the best type of gas to put into this vehicle for reliability and longevity? Such as 87, 89, or 91.

    3. I have an iPhone 12 Pro Max and so many times my Apple CarPlay disconnects completely when trying to place a phone call. Once it does this, the only way to fix it is by turning the vehicle completely off and turning it back on. Even restarting the media center by holding the power button does not fix this issue if the car is in use.

    4. Is there anyway to have the LED light strip lights on the headlight be on with the Day Light Running lights without my dash and media console turning into night mode? I want that light strip on as my DLR lights but when I turn the knob there all my screens get so dark and is unusable during the day.

    5. I purchased brand new and I noticed after about 400 miles that my brakes make a sound when slowly backing up or starting to slowly drive off.

    Thank you all so much!

    congrats and welcome!
what happens if you hold down the mode switch?
    use 87 top tier gasoline
the brake rotors rust lightly on prius because they don't get used much due to regenerative braking.
when you are in reverse, there is no regen, so the pads are scrapping off the rust coating.
it can be helpful to put the car in neutral now and then, around 30mph and lightly apply the brakes.
no regen in neutral, and the pads will clean up the rotors.

    all the best!

Not trying to be critical but reading the manual would go a long way in answering your questions. As far as making phone calls, I use car play to make the calls. I too use the 12 Pro Max and have no issues. First I mute by holding down the mode button, and then use the voice control button to make the call.

Thank you so much! I will try these things out

It definitely would. I read a lot of it but must have missed this. Thanks!

Regardless of my concerns I absolutely love this car! It’s my first Prius and I couldn’t be more impressed.

For the daytime and screen brightness, on my LE I've gone into the multimedia settings and brightened the display plus changed the settings so that I can keep my lights on 24/7 like auto lights. When I turn the car off and open the door, the lights go off automatically...almost like the real automatic lights...that was the one thing I had on my prior car I was missing on the LE. Hope it works for you.
