Why would they tell customers that request this to not bother hiring them to do it?

When you run an honest shop you end up with too many customers... And I entirely agree with that shop. Coolant changes are a throwback to an earlier era in the 1900's when cooling systems had to have a coolent flush often to keep it from failing. It's the same as telling people to sell their car at 100K miles. The reality is you can get 300K miles out of most modern cars, especially Toyotas with nothing more than an oil change, spark plugs and filters and cleaning.

IMHO; in Florida - you could probably leave it alone. You usually don't get below freezing for more than a few hours at a time vs cars spending months in below freezing temperatures.
I would double check the PH levels, just in case - to prevent oxidation of internal components.

    Hope this helps....

You need to check it with test strips just to check the pH to make sure it's not becoming too acidic or even maybe two alkaline You want it somewhere I'm going to guess around 7:0 7.2 or 3 something like that.

Much less heat. Inverter coolant has a really easy job compared to the engine coolant.

Though it may not work at hard as the engine coolant, maybe, it's called PREVENTIVE maintainence
for a reason. And it's about 1/2 qt. And only takes a few minutes to change, and it's SIMPLE to change.
Why take the risk just to save a few dollars?
